Two Presbyterian College football players, Jeremiah McKie and Tobi Antigha, were named to the USA Football Network's College Football FCS Preseason All-American Team, with McKie earning First Team Defensive honors as a return specialist and Antigha earning a spot on the Offensive Second Team as a wide receiver.
The teams were selected by a national panel including head coaches, sports information directors, members of the Football Writers Association of America, Metropolitan New York Football Writers Association, New England Football Writers Association and Philadelphia Football Writers, pro football scouts plus staff journalists of Lindey's Sports Annuals, The Sports Network and USA Football News.
An 11-game starter this past season, Antigha led the team in receiving and was seventh in rushing. He led the Blue Hose and was fifth in the conference in scoring TDs with eight as well. Antigha, a senior wide receiver from Tampa, Fla., was second on the team and 10th in the league in all-purpose yards, as well as third in the conference in receptions per game (4.91), receiving yards per game (69.5) and ninth in scoring per game (4.4).
As a kick returner last season McKie caught 20 kick returns for tops in the league, taking the ball 490 yards for a 24.5 average per return. The senior from Simpsonville, S.C., took one back a career-long 97 yards for a touchdown against VMI, one of just three in the league in 2013 to do so. He was fourth in the league in kick returns (20), fourth in kick return yards (490) and second in kick return average (24.5). He posted a career-high six returns against Wofford in 2013.
Handling punt return duties as well, McKie caught 12 punt returns for a total of 150 yards, 12.5 yards per carry. He returned a punt against Brevard 50 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, just one of two in the conference to do so last year. His 63 total punt yards was a PC Division I record as well against Brevard. McKie led the league in punt return yards with his 150 and was fifth in punt returns overall.
