RADFORD, VA.- The Presbyterian College men's soccer team fell to Radford 6-1 in their Big South Conference season-opener on Saturday night at Cupp Stadium.
Josh Carter (Anchorage, Alaska/Darlington School) scored the lone goal for the Blue Hose (1-6-0) in the 76th minute on a penalty kick.
The Highlanders (4-2-2) scored the first goal of the game in the 18th minute when Fraser Colmer chipped it across the box to Stephen Hudgens for a quick goal.
Kieran Roberts scored in the 25th minute off an assist from Neil Martorana. Roberts scored again in the 37th minute off a steal and break away to take a 3-0 lead at halftime.
At the start of the second half, Radford got a point off an accidental PC goal in the 48th minute.
Ryan Albiston scored his first goal of the season on a breakaway. Chel Ho Park Kim was credited with the assist.
Carter put Presbyterian on the board with 15 minutes to play in the game on his PK.
Roberts headed the ball for his third goal of the game in the 84th minute off a pass from Albiston to complete the hat trick.
Radford held a 20-5 advantage in shots over Presbyterian, as well as a 7-3 corner kick advantage.
Johnny Archer (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic H.S.) recorded six saves and allowed six goals in the loss for PC.
The Blue Hose will be back in action on Friday Oct. 3 when they host High Point at 7 p.m. at Martin Stadium.
