CLINTON, S.C.- The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team dropped a 14-4 match to Furman on Wednesday at a windy Old Bailey Stadium. 

PC moves to 0-2 on the year and will next face Colorado over Spring Break on March 2. Furman opens its inaugural season with a win to start 1-0 and next plays Gardner-Webb on Friday in Greenville. 

Grace Gabrovic (Orlando, Fla.), Maggie Richardson (Maplewood, N.J.), Claire Frase (Fort Mill, S.C.) and Kelty Fletcher (Jupiter, Fla.) each registered goals for the Blue Hose in the loss. 

Britt Douglass recorded five goals for the visiting Paladins, while Meg Lingo and Paige Gamble each had a hat-trick. Devon Horine tallied a goal and three assists, while Ashley Trice and Kristine Knowles each had one goal apiece for the visitors

Lingo put the Paladins on the board just five minutes into the game and Horine put them up 2-0 with 22:04 on the clock in the first half when she scored just minutes later. 

Gabrovic scored her first career goal on a pass from Katy Richardson (Lake Worth, Fla.) with 20:23 to play in the opening half to pull the Blue Hose within one goal of the visitors, 2-1. 

The Paladins closed out the half with five straight goals to take a 7-1 lead at the break. 

PC opened the second half with two straight goals. Maggie Richardson recorded her first goal of the season with 27:34 to play off a pass from teammate Jess Goergen (Fayetteville, Ga.). 

Frase scored just one minute later for the hosts to pull PC within four points, 7-3. 

Furman scored back-to-back goals before Fletcher found the back of the net for the Blue Hose with 25:06 to play.

The Paladins ended the game with five straight goals to pull away from the Blue Hose. 

Lee-Ann Salim (East Islip, N.Y.) recorded eight saves for the Blue Hose in goal, while Maggie Friel made five saves for the visitors.
