DOVER, DE.- Katy Richardson (Lake Worth, Fla.) scored a school-record nine goals to lead the Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team to a 19-12 win over Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at DSU's Alumni Stadium.
Richardson's nine goals breaks the single game scoring record of eight goals, set by Catherine Ellis on March 22, 2013 against Kennesaw State. Richardson also dished out an assist for a team-high 10 points, which ties for most points in a game (10) with Jenna Handshoe, set on May 3, 2009 against Howard.
The Blue Hose scored eight straight goals midway through the first half to build a lead against the Hornets that the team would never relinquish.
PC improves to 3-6 overall, while Delaware State drops to 0-11. Presbyterian begins Big South Conference play next Saturday against Winthrop at 1 p.m. at Martin Stadium.
