CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team knocked off Delaware State, 20-11, Saturday afternoon in the season opener at Old Bailey Stadium. Nine different PC players scored in the game.

Cady Roberts (The Woodlands, Texas) netted four goals in her first career appearance for the Blue Hose, while Claire Frase (Fort Mill, S.C.) scored four goals of her own. Lauren Schaaf (Ellicott, City, Md.) and Kelty Fletcher (Jupiter, Fla.) each poured in three goals for PC.

Iman Hassan scored four goals and added two assists for Delaware State, while Olivia Summerville and Lauren Perry added two goals apiece.

The Blue Hose started the game off with four-straight goals, two from Kathleen Gerrits (Lake Worth, Fla.) and two from Roberts. The Hornets cut the PC lead and scored two straight. Alexandra Cole (Duluth, Ga.) and Schaaf put the Blue Hose up 6-2 with goals in the 13th and 15th minutes, respectively.

Roberts completed her hat trick with 12 minutes left in the first half and put PC up 7-3. Delaware State responded with three of the next four goals and closed the gap to 9-6. PC closed the half with two straight goals and took an 11-6 lead into the locker room.

The Blue Hose opened the second half with three-straight goals and jumped out to a 14-6 lead. DSU collected two goals before PC netted five-straight with 12 minutes left in the game.

Sophia Cuzzupe collected seven saves in the first half, while Lee-Ann Salim generated one save in the final 30 minute of the game.

PC outshot DSU 55-22 in the game and held a 43-32 ground ball advantage in the game.
