CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Presbyterian College softball team powered by Stony Brook, 8-2, Saturday night in their fourth of five games in the Charlotte 49ers Tournament. PC scored in five of the seven innings.
The Blue Hose improved to 4-2 on the season, while the Seawolves fell to 1-3 on the year. PC closes out the tournament against Charlotte Sunday at noon.
Kelsie Sanchez smashed a homerun to left center in the first that put the Blue Hose up 1-0 early in the game. Jordan Ashley singled to left center and drove in Kersten Legaski and put PC up 2-1 after the second.
Hope Rogers drove a homerun over the center field fence in the third, which proved to be the winning run. Legacki then singled to second and drove in Erin Ruff in the same inning that put the Blue Hose ahead 4-0.
Megan Anderson drove in Sanchez in the fourth inning. Rogers then sent a ball to right field that cleared the loaded bases scored Madison Longanecker, Jenna Harris and Ashley that ended the scoring for the Blue Hose.
Natasha Sherrod threw three scoreless innings and allowed two hits, while Sydney Seigler pitched four innings, allowed two runs on four hits.
The Blue Hose scored eight runs on 11 hits in the game.
