CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team fell to Army, 16-3, on Tuesday at Martin Stadium.
The Blue Hose fell to 2-5 on the season, while the Black Knights improved to 4-3 on the year. PC hosts Bryant at 4 p.m. on Tuesday at Martin Stadium.
Claire Frase (Fort Mill, S.C.) led the Blue Hose with two goals on two shots, while Lauren Schaaf (Ellicott City, Md.) and Natalie Barnett (Mint Hill, N.C.) both provided an assist.
Amy Johnston powered the Army offense with three goals and two assists on four shots and collected three draw controls. Nikki Polhamus produced three goals and an assist, while Amanda Roper added two assists.
Army started the game with two straight goals before Frase found the back of the net on a pass from Barnett and cut the Army lead to 2-1. The Black Knights scored six straight goals to close the first half and took an 8-1 lead into the locker room.
Frase started the second half with her second goal of the game, assisted by Schaaf. Jess Goergen (Fayetteville, Ga.) netted her sixth goal of the season on a free position and cut the Black Knights lead to 8-3. Army closed the game on an 8-0 goal run.
Sophia Cuzzupe (Newtown Square, Pa.) and Lee-Ann Salim (East Islip, N.Y.) split halves in goal for PC, while Salim made one save.
The Blue Hose took 13 shots and put six on frame.
