CLINTON, S.C. – Coastal Carolina came away with a 17-4 win over the Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team Wednesday at Martin Stadium.
The Blue Hose fell to 2-8, 0-2 in the Big South Conference, while the Chanticleers went to 5-4, 1-1 on the season. PC continues conference play 2 p.m. Saturday against High Point at Martin Stadium.
Cady Roberts (The Woodlands, Texas) led the way for the Blue Hose with three goals, while Claire Frase (Fort Mill, S.C.) scored one of her own.
Three Coastal players netted hat tricks, while six different players contributed an assist.
The Chanticleers netted the first four goals of the game before Roberts scored back-to-back goals. Roberts' goals struck with six and four minutes left in the first half.
Sara Nolan converted the eventual game winner on a free position shot with 2:03 left in the first half. Coastal took a 5-2 lead into the locker room.
Roberts completed her hat trick with 21 minutes left in the game on a free position shot. Frase netted her 11th goal of the season less than a minute later.
Sophia Cuzzupe (Newtown Square, Pa.) collected three saves in goal for PC.
The Blue Hose took 13 shots and put seven on goal in the game.
