Frederica, Del. – An 8-0 run by the Blue Hose gave PC separation en route to a 20-8 victory over the Delaware State Hornets on Saturday morning. Kathleen Gerrits led the Blue Hose with four goals and Lauren Schaaf had a career high three assists.

Gerrits' four goals were a career high as was Schaaf's three assists.

Presbyterian outshot Delaware State by a 43-19 margin. The 43 shots are a season high.
Game Story
Delaware State opened up the scoring at the 26:47 mark to go up 1-0 on the Blue Hose but they came back quickly with back to back goals by Sophie Krist and Gerrits at the 21:31 mark. The Hornets tied it up at 2-2 only to have Kelly Hyman give PC the lead back. Delaware State tied it up once more at 3-3 with 17:12 to play in the half but that was the final time it was tied. PC finished the half on a 7-0 run and took a 12-4 lead in to the intermission.
The Blue Hose turned that into an 8-0 run to begin the second half. Midway through the second half Gerrits started a 5-0 run that took it from 15-7 PC to 20-7 PC over the course of 10 minutes. The Hornets added one more goal as the minutes wound down and the Blue Hose were victorious 20-8.

Presbyterian improves to 2-7 overall this season while Delaware State drops to 0-4.
Notes
The 20 goals are a season high for the Blue Hose and the most since scoring 20 goals vs. Delaware State on February 13, 2016.
11 different players contributed a goal and 12 contributed a point in the Blue Hose's 20-goal performance.
Three different players finished with hat-tricks as Hyman and Natalie Barnett each had three goals and Gerrits had four.
Five different players scored their first goals of the 2018 season.
Ashley Wren, Hudson Roarick, Jordan Bryon, Kelty Fletcher and Krist all contributed their first goals of 2018.
Sarah Marshall finished with two goals, her fourth multi-goal game this season.
All three goal keepers played in the game. Sophia Cuzzupe started and played the first 30 minutes in getting the win.
Fletcher led the way with a career high tying three ground balls for PC.
Claire Frase and Roarick each had two caused turnovers. This was a career high tying effort for Frase and a season high for Roarick.
