Abraham Joins Blue Hose Football

Presbyterian College and head football coach Tommy Spangler announced hiring of former Louisiana Tech standout Bryson Abraham as assistant coach. He will start immediately and will oversee wide receivers.

“I am excited that Bryson (Abraham) is here at PC coaching our wide receivers,” said Spangler. “I recruited him at Louisiana Tech and he had a tremendous career there. He was a great athlete, but an even better person. He'll be an asset for our program.”

Abraham was a standout for the Louisiana Tech defense, leading the nation in total defensive touchdowns (4) and interceptions returned for touchdowns (3) as a redshirt senior in 2015.

This garnered Abraham second team All-Conference USA and second team All-Louisiana honors. He also took part in Detroit Lions Minicamp in 2016.

Over his career at Louisiana Tech, the Jennings, Louisiana native collected 156 tackles (113 solo), eight interceptions, 22 pass break-ups, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and a blocked kick. Abraham's teams at Louisiana Tech won a pair of bowl games while he was there, the Zaxby's Heart of Dallas Bowl in 2014 and the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl in 2015.

Abraham's coaching career began at his alma mater as a Graduate Assistant defensive coach in 2016. Last year, he was the cornerbacks coach for Ruston High School in Ruston, Louisiana.

“I am blessed for the opportunity to coach at such a great organization as Presbyterian College,” said Abraham. “I am looking forward to doing many great things here at PC.”

Abraham graduated from Louisiana Tech in 2014 with a degree in psychology.
