Greenville, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team fell against Furman, 19-3, on Wednesday night at Paladin Stadium. Natalie Barnett scored a pair of free position goals to lead the Blue Hose.

Scoring the Game

Furman jumped out to a 9-0 lead with six different Paladins getting on the scoresheet over the game's first 10 minutes. Kelly Hyman got PC on the scoreboard with a goal at 15:29 off a pass from Sarah Marshall following a free position attempt. Furman tacked on three more goals before half, leading 12-1 at the break.

Barnett's first of the game made it 15-2 at the 15:59 mark. After a 47 minute lightning delay, the senior would find the back of the net one more time to make it 18-3 with 3:48 remaining. Furman scored their final goal with 49 seconds remaining to pick up the 19-3 win.

Presbyterian College falls to 0-4, while Furman improves to 1-2.

Stats

Furman led in most categories including draw controls, 18-5, shots, 35-8, and caused turnovers 8-2. Grace Pollak scored a game-high four goals, and 12 players recorded at least one point for Furman.

Notables

Alyssa Cooke led the team and tied her collegiate-best with three ground balls.

Heidi Shafer recorded a collegiate-best 8 saves on a season-high 55:52 in goal.
