New Britain, Ct – The Central Connecticut State women's lacrosse team pulled away from Presbyterian College in the second half to win 16-4 on Thursday. Senior Natalie Barnett scored a pair of goals for the Blue Hose and led the team with four shots. Freshman Alyssa Cooke had a pair of assists.
Scoring the Game
Sarah Marshall tied the game at 1-1 with an assist from Cooke at 25:06. After a pair of Blue Devil goals, Megan Dreyer scored her first of the year to cut the lead to 3-2 at 16:58. Again CCSU stretched the lead with back-to-back goals, but Barnett cut the run with her 10th of the season and with Cooke's second assist of the day to make it 5-3 with 10:25 left in the first half. The Blue Devils strung together four unanswered over a four-minute span to take a 9-3 lead at 4:08. Barnett then scored her second of the day at 3:33 to bring the game to its halftime score, 9-4.
It was all Blue Devils in the second half, as CCSU tacked on seven insurance goals to win 16-4.

Presbyterian College moves to 1-7 on the year, while Central Connecticut State improves to 2-4.
Stats of the Game
Central Connecticut State saw a 35-8 edge in shots carry over into a 27-7 advantage in shots on goal. Presbyterian College recorded 11 saves compared to three for CCSU. Draw controls were slightly in the home team's favor, 11-10, but the Blue Devils recorded twice as many groundballs, 27-13, and half the turnovers, 19-9.

Sophomore Sarah Marshall scored her team-leading 14th goal of the season.
