Lacrosse Drops Conference Opener at Campbell

Buies Creek, N.C. – The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team fell in their Big South opener to Campbell, 24-4, on Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium. Four Blue Hose players recorded a goal, while Sam Carey led the Camels with five goals and an assist.

Scoring the Game

Sarah Marshall netted her team-leading 20th of the season at the 19:10 mark to stop an 8-0 opening run by Campbell. After a 3-0 run by the Camels pushed their lead to double-digits, Megan Dreyer cut it to 11-2 off an assist from Marshall at 9:32. Leading 14-2 at halftime, Campbell built to an 18-2 lead in the second half before Natalie Barnett scored an unassisted goal, her 14th on the season, at the 17:38 mark. Madison Berg, with an assist from Ryann Doyle, scored PC's final goal of the game with 13:56 remaining to make it 19-4. Campbell added five goals in the game's final 10 minutes to pick up the 24-4 win.

Presbyterian College moves to 1-10 (0-1 Big South), while Campbell improves to 4-7, 1-0.

Stats of the Game

Campbell saw advantages in shots, 41-6, ground balls, 24-8, and draw controls, 22-6.
