Rincon Adds To 2020 Signing Class

CLINTON, S.C. --- Presbyterian College and head men's tennis coach Eduardo Rincon announced the signing of Javier Matos (La Florida, Caracas, Venezuela) on Monday as the newest member of the program's 2020 recruiting class. Matos joins Sebastian Dominguez as both are set to join the Blue Hose for the 2020-21 season.

"I am excited about adding Javier to our roster," said Rincon. "Javier has tremendous potential as a tennis player, and he will flourish as a student-athlete during the next four years. His all-court game style is ideal for college tennis. I expect him to contribute immediately in both singles and doubles action."

Before PC: Reached an ITF Ranking of 297… had a UTR Rating of 11.84… won an ITF singles tournament in Venezuela… picked up a pair of ITF doubles tournament wins in Venezuela and Dominican Republic… was ranked No. 2 in Venezuela… won the 2020 Aguila Negra Open… since the age of 12, he's competed in state and national team events, which include the being selected to join the South American COSAT 12 & 16 national teams…

Personal: Born Javier Matos Fernandez in Venezuela to Carlos Matos and Ana Fernandez… Chose PC because it's a school where you can improve as a professional and be successful in your life. He also selected Presbyterian because the environment and the campus are very beautiful and relaxing places where you can study and learn in the correct ways… he intends to major in business administration with a concentration in Management…
