CLINTON, S.C. – Presbyterian College and lacrosse head coach
Eric Clakeley announced their schedule for the 2022 season earlier this week. The spring slate will consist of a full 17 game season with eight games at Bailey Memorial Stadium.
"We are excited to be back with a full 17 game slate in 2022. We cannot wait to open the season in Bailey Memorial Stadium on February 11th and we feel all 8 of our non-conference games challenge and prepare us for Big South play", said coach Clakeley.
Presbyterian opens their season on February 11 as they host Howard at Bailey Memorial Stadium. They will then go on the road with a trip to East Carolina on February 20, before a three-game home stand. The home stretch begins with Kent State (Feb. 25), followed by Stetson (Mar. 2), and ends with Butler (Mar. 9).
The Blue Hose will wrap up their non-conference part of the schedule on the road for three games. PC will play three games in seven days starting with Delaware State (Mar. 13), then Saint Francis (Mar. 15), and finish with Kennesaw State (Mar. 20).
PC will begin the newly revamped Big South Conference with a matchup against Mercer (Mar. 25) at home. Another game at Bailey Memorial as the Blue Hose take on Longwood (Apr. 2) before the team plays their first road conference game at Wofford (Apr. 6).
Presbyterian remains on the road for a matchup with the Panthers of High Point (Apr. 9), and after will return to Clinton to take on Winthrop (Apr. 13). Three of the last four games for PC will be away from home as they are at Gardner-Webb (Apr. 16) and Campbell (Apr. 20), with one final home game vs. Radford (Apr. 23) and finishing the season at Furman (Apr. 27).
The Big South Conference Tournament will be held from April 30-May 8 with the first round being played at the higher seeds and the semifinals and finals hosted by High Point.
"The Big South expansion for Women's Lacrosse will provide a unique challenge for this season", says Clakeley. "Playing nine conference games in 33 days will push us to prepare, perform and reset in short order."
