Men's Soccer Opens Conference Play With Draw

Clinton, S.C. – The Presbyterian College men's soccer team battled all afternoon with Longwood but neither team was able to find the back of the net as Sunday's Big South Conference opener ended in a 0-0 draw at Martin Stadium.

How It Happened
- Presbyterian got an early chance from Crespo as he put a shot on frame in the third minute but Jacob Reimers for Longwood came up with the stop.
- Longwood got a chance on frame in the ninth minute but Valentin Kliebe came up with the save to keep the game scoreless.
- In the 55th minute, Longwood was able to put a shot on frame but Kliebe continued to deny the Lancers any chances at the back of the net.
- Crespo had a second chance in the 61st minute but was unable to convert as Reimers came up with another stop.
- Both Longwood and PC had a shot in the second OT but neither was converted as that would lead the match to a 0-0 draw.

By the Numbers
- PC outshot Longwood 13-8 with both teams having four shots on goal in the contest.
- Presbyterian produced one more corner kick than the Lancers by the count of 3-2.

Notables
-  Pedro Crespo produced a team-high two shots on frame, while Nacho Gallego and Mamadu Bau each had one shot on goal in Sunday's draw.
- Of the Blue Hose 13 shots, Crespo had a game-high five. 
- Sunday marked the first 0-0 draw since October, 4th 2016 when the Blue Hose and Appalachian State battled to a tie.
- Presbyterian is unbeaten in its last five Big South openers as they hold a 4-0-1 record in those contests.
