Women's Tennis Travels To Cullowhee & Charlotte For Weekend

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team return to the courts for a pair of matches on the road beginning on Saturday afternoon at Western Carolina with first serve set for 2 p.m.. The Blue Hose are then headed to Charlotte to play a neutral site match with Marshall on Sunday at 1 p.m.

MATCHUP: Presbyterian vs. Marshall (3-4, 0-0 CUSA)
TIME: Sunday March 14, 1 pm
LOCATION: Halton-Wagner Tennis Complex (Charlotte, N.C.)    

SCOUTING THE CATAMOUNTS
- Western Carolina enters Saturday's with a 6-5 record overall after earning a 5-2 victory over N.C. Central in its most recent match. The Catamounts also have wins over Tusculum, Belmont, UNC Asheville and a pair of wins over Lenoir-Rhyne this year.
- Antonella Benavides is 7-4 to lead WCU this season with five of those seven wins coming at No. 5 singles.
- Kata Foldeak and Jacy Smith lead the Catamounts in doubles action with four wins overall all coming at No. 1 doubles.
- PC holds a 5-2-1 record all-time against Western Carolina during the Blue Hose DI era. PC earned a 4-3 win over the Catamounts in the most recent meeting during the 2018 spring season.
 
SCOUTING THE THUNDERING HERD
- Marshall enters the weekend at 3-4 overall as it is scheduled to fact Charlotte on Saturday before facing the Blue Hose in the Queen City on Sunday afternoon.
- The Herd have wins this spring over Middle Tennessee, Furman and Bellarmine.
- Marshall and PC will meet for the first time in the Blue Hose DI era on Sunday afternoon.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Presbyterian College women's tennis team improved to 2-0 in Big South play on Wednesday with a tight 4-3 decision over Gardner-Webb at the Webb Tennis Complex. It is the first time that PC has started 2-0 in Big South play dating back to 2009.

UP NEXT
- The Blue Hose have a quick turnaround following Sunday's match with Marshall as they return home on Tuesday afternoon for a 1 p.m. match against Georgia Southern.
