Blue Hose Drop Matinee to Visiting Dolphins

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's basketball was unable to erase an 18-point halftime deficit as Jacksonville defeated the Blue Hose 71-56 on Saturday afternoon inside the Templeton Center. Bryanna Brady led the Blue Hose with 17 points in the setback.

Scoring the Game
- The Blue Hose came out of the gates quickly on Saturday with the games first seven points to get the early 7-0 lead with 6:57 to play in the quarter. Jacksonville responded on a 16-3 burst over the next six minutes to make it 16-10 Dolphins in the final minute. Christina Kline connected on a late three before five in a row for the guests made it 21-13 after one.
- Jacksonville opened the second quarter on an 11-3 run that pushed the guests lead to 32-16 with 6:37 to play in the opening half. PC battled to cut the deficit to 13, 37-24 before five unanswered from the Dolphins made it 42-24 at the break.
- PC opened quickly with back-to-back buckets from Núria Cunill to force an early timeout from the Dolphins at 8:41 of the third quarter. The teams traded buckets over the next several minutes to cut the lead to 13, 52-39 with 5:01 to play in the third quarter. Jacksonville used a 7-2 run to push it to 18, 59-41 with 3:07 to play in the quarter. The Blue Hose continued to fight back with a 9-3 run down the stretch to give the guests a 62-50 lead after three.
- Neither team was able to get the offenses going in the fourth as PC got the opening basket before a 7-0 run from the Dolphins extended it to a 69-52 lead with 5:07 to play. Brady connected on a pair of layups that cut the margin to 13, 69-56 but the Blue Hose would get no closer as Jacksonville earned the 71-56 victory on Saturday afternoon.

Players of the Game
- Brady led the Blue Hose on Saturday with 17 points as she made 7-of-10 field goals and also tied for the team lead with seven rebounds. Kline added 11 points with five assists and three three-pointers. Tilda Sjökvist  added nine points making three from beyond the arc while dishing out five helpers in the contest. Deshari Graham led the Dolphins with 20 points as Seraphi Bastin added 14 points and eight rebounds. Khalela Hayes posted 16 points and Shynia Jackson tallied 11 points and six rebounds. Bastin led Jacksonville with six assists.

Stats of the Game
- The Blue Hose went 22-of-44 (50%) from the field as Jacksonville posted a 43.7% shooting 31-of-71 on Saturday. PC was 8-of-17 from deep while the Dolphins made 7-of-18 from beyond the arc. The hosts made 4-of-6 free throws compared to 2-of-7 at the charity stripe from the guests. The Blue Hose outrebounded the Dolphins 32-30 and dished out 18 assists compared to 16 from JU. The Dolphins scored 44 points in the paint compared to 20 from Presbyterian.

Notables
- Brady totaled her fourth double-figure scoring game of the season with a team-high 17 points as she connected on seven of her 10 field goals. She also led the way with seven rebounds.
- The Blue Hose matched their season-high with 18 assists a mark they set against Furman back during the opening week of the season. PC was led by Kline and Sjökvist with five assists apiece.
- Kline added 11 points and Sjökvist with nine as both made three triples on Saturday. Kline tied her career-high with those triples while Sjökvist set a new career-high for the freshman.
- PC shot a season-high 50% on 22-of-44 field goals led by the 7-of-10 performance from Brady.
- Saturday marked the third straight game that the Blue Hose outrebounded their opponent with a 32-30 edge on the glass.
- Mara Neira set a new personal best with the Blue Hose tallying seven rebounds.
