CLINTON, S.C.- The Presbyterian College women's lacrosse team begins Big South competition on Friday as they host the Mercer Bears for a 3pm start. Mercer will be playing in their first Big South match in program history.

Scouting the Bears:
Mercer comes into the contest with a 3-2 record, picking up wins over Oregon, Kennesaw State, and UMass Lowell. Their two losses have come from USC and North Carolina. The Bears will be playing for the first time in two weeks as their last game was a 20-7 loss to the Tar Heels on March 11.
The Bears have accounted for a 33.3% assist rate on goals this season (63 G, 21A). They have three upperclassmen who have scored double-digit goals this season, led by Hailey Rhatigan with 20, who leads the Big South in goals/game (4.00). Mercer is also second in the conference in goals/game as a team (12.60), and third in points/game (16.80).
Notables:
- Presbyterian is coming off an 18-8 loss to Kennesaw State on March 20. The Blue Hose were able to take the lead twice at 3-2 and 5-4, but the Owls went on a 12-1 run to crush PC's hopes of a win.

Abby Edmisten leads the Blue Hose with 22 goals. She ranks third in the conference in goals/game (3.14), and second in the country in free-position goals/game at 1.86.
- The PC defense, and team as a whole, have done an excellent job collecting loose balls, ranking 19
th in the country in ground balls/game (19.12).
Heidi Shafer leads the team with 23, followed by
Paige Gacek with 19, and
Kendall Goldfarb with 18.
