Presbyterian Plays No. 1 Clemson on the Road

The Presbyterian College Blue Hose men's soccer team continues their four-game road swing at the number one ranked Clemson Tigers on Monday evening.

Last Time Out
The Blue Hose improved to 5-0 with a tough 3-2 road win at Wofford last Tuesday. Vidar Ragnarsson's goal off a Niklas Hoener corner kick in the 80th minute was the game-winner. Gerard Lopez and Nile Nguidjol also scored goals in the game. Presbyterian finished the game with 12 shots and three corner kicks.

Blue Hose Stats
Lopez, who has two-game winning goals, leads the Blue Hose with three goals. Lorenzo Nagy, who also has two game-winning goals, and Chase Kennedy are tied for second on the team with two goals apiece. The Blue Hose have a balanced offensive attack with ten different players scoring goals this season. Presbyterian is averaging nearly three goals per game while limiting their five opponents to a combined three goals this season. Goalkeeper Leo Stritter has only conceded two goals this season in 419 minutes of action.

Big South Weekly Award
Last week, junior defender Connor Hudson was named Big South Defensive Player of the Week (September 12). Hudson is the fifth player in the program's history to garner Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors. While, freshman goalkeeper Leo Stritter was named Big South Conference Freshman of the Week for the second straight week (September 6, September 12). He is the first player in the program's history to capture multiple Big South Freshman of the Week honors.

Perfect Start
Presbyterian enters the Clemson game with a 5-0 record on the season, which is the first time in the program's Division I era that the Blue Hose have begun a season 5-0.

Scouting Clemson
The Tigers are the defending national champions who enter the game currently ranked number one. Clemson suffered their first loss of the season this past Friday night with a 2-1 loss to No. 16 Syracuse at home. Ousmane Sylla leads Clemson in scoring with four goals and five assists to tie for the ACC lead in points with 13. Mohamed Seye is tied for third in the ACC with four assists. Clemson has outscored their seven opponents, 15-5, this season.
