Opening Tip
The Blue Hose continue their season opening road games in Kansas on Wednesday with a trip to Wichita, Kan. to face the Wichita Shockers. Both teams enter Wednesday's tilt coming off losses in the respective team's debut contests with PC falling to Kansas State and Wichita State being defeated by Oklahoma. This season marks the first time that PC has faced Wichita State in the Blue Hose DI history.

Season Debut
The Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's basketball team started off the 2023-24 season on Monday, November 6 with a 69-35 loss to Kansas State in the Bramlage Coliseum. In this matchup sophomore guard
Aubrie Kierscht led the team with 10 points marking the 14th time in her career that she has put up double-figure points.

Scouting the Shockers
Wichita State is coming off of a 92-68 loss to Oklahoma in their season opener on the road. DJ McCarty led the Shockers with 19 points as she connected on 2-of-5 three pointers. Tre'Zure Jobe added 16 points, four steals, four rebounds, and shot 2-of-6 three pointers. Daniela Abies led the team with four offensive rebounds and two defensive rebounds. As a team Wichita State scored 68 points after making 25-of-71 field goals including 7-of-22 three-point shots. They also went 11- of-15 from the line.

PC is scheduled to play 31 contests under the direction of sixth year head coach
Alaura Sharp during the 2023-24 season, including 16 league games which begin on January 3rd at home. The Blue Hose are slated to make trips to Kansas, Wimington, Cullowhee, Charlotte, Columbia, and Las Vegas in non-conference play while welcoming Johnson C. Smith, CIU, ETSU, Morehead State, North Carolina Central, Queens, South Carolina, and Columbia College (S.C.) to Clinton. Presbyterian will play eight home-homes with the league in 2024, beginning with Charleston Southern on January 3.

Sharp Welcomes Coach Thomas
Presbyterian College and head women's basketball coach
Alaura Sharp announced the addition of coach
Caleb Thomas to her staff which finalizes the coaching staff for the upcoming season. Thomas spent the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech spending time on video/film evaluation along with scouting reports and recruiting. He spent time as a player development assistant as he constructed individual guard workouts based on personnel and offensive scheme. He also spent time working with daily practice facility prep along with game-day operations. Thomas was a key component in both official and unofficial visits to campus helping to facilitate for the Louisiana Tech program. He also had a hand in helping prepare social media content for various accounts. On the court, Thomas was a part of the 2021-22 West Division Champions at Louisiana Tech and the program also totaled the most league wins in program history. He finished his graduate studies with a Master's in Health Informatics (MHI) at Louisiana Tech this past year.
