CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After his performance in Presbyterian's win over Elon last week,
Denim Yadav claimed Big South Freshman of the Week honors for the third time this season as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
BIG SOUTH WEEKLY AWARDS
For the fifth time this season a Blue Hose player has earned Big South Freshman of the Week honors. Yadav (February 22, March 8, March 29) and
David Mamalat (January 25, March 22) have captured the league's freshman of the week award this season
Dusan Milanovic (January 18) and
Max Benson (January 25) claimed the first two Big South Player of the Week awards handed out this season. On March 8,
Javier Matos was named Big South Co-Player of the Week.
YADAV'S PERFORMANCE WEEK
The Indore, India native gutted out a 4-6, 7-5, 6-4 victory at number four singles in Presbyterian's 4-2 road win over Elon this past Sunday. Yadav was up 3-0 in the third set, then Elon's Oskar Antinheimo won four straight games taking a 4-3 lead, then Yadav regrouped and won three straight games to win the match.
PLAY THIS SEASON
Yadav has posted an 8-4 record in singles this season including a perfect 3-0 mark against Big South competition. He has played primarily at number four singles but he does have wins at number two and three singles as well.
