CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College lacrosse team, fresh off setting a new program best for total wins in a season while there's still five dates left on the calendar, enjoys the advantage of home-turf conditions for their next two. One game ahead of their upcoming opponent in the latest Big South standings, PC will look to keep it that way in a tussle with High Point tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 PM, streamed live via ESPN+.
Picking up the school's first-ever victory against Winthrop 48 hours ago in an 11-10 seesaw battle, the Blue Hose searches for yet another first on Saturday in a season full of them, in that they've never tasted the W in 13 prior attempts when going head-to-head with the Panthers.
Ironically, head coach
Eric Clakeley's unit has witnessed their highest success rate when competing away from Clinton – with five of their six triumphs occurring in the visitors' role – currently even at 1-1 in conference affairs at Bailey Memorial Stadium. PC has stepped up its offensive mentality as of late, reaching an average of 10 goals per contest in league play compared to eight outside of it, a mark that sends the Blue Hose to the HPU bout at 3-1 over their last four.
WHO: Presbyterian (6-6, 3-1) vs. High Point (4-9, 3-2)

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Far more polished than a sub-.500 overall record would indicate at first glance, High Point heads to Clinton with a strength of schedule perhaps unmatched by any other institution in the conference and recently looking all the better because of it. Four nationally-ranked clubs have dueled with the Panthers since February, leading to 50 combined goals from HPU in their last three Big South encounters.
- Entering league terrain with a 1-6 record largely due to the aforementioned tough layout, head coach Lyndsey Boswell and co. kicked off their conference composition with a double-overtime thriller against Winthrop, grabbing two other divisional W's over Radford and Longwood by an added difference of 16 points.
- A hardened group thanks to matchups against #13 James Madison, #19 Southern California, #3 North Carolina, and a Duke squad earlier this week that is currently a receiving-votes member of the IWLCA national poll, High Point has accumulated nearly 70 goals in Big South action alone and will travel to PC on the heels of a season-high 20 scores at Longwood on Wednesday.
LAST TIME OUT
- Driven by a career-best six goals from sophomore sensation
Willow Hammond in Rock Hill, the Blue Hose earned a hard-fought midweek victory against Winthrop that registered as their fourth win of the campaign to land by a single score. Coach Clakeley's group utilized a 4-0 burst as the 2
nd period faded into the 3
rd that created the desired separation, denying the Eagles a single point over a total length of 23 minutes and 30 seconds.
- A late rally from Winthrop threatened the safety of Presbyterian's lead, however a 4
th-quarter trifecta from Hammond,
Kylie Sullivan, and
Mickey Paredes prevented that surprise from following through. On the defensive end of the field, rookie keeper
Lilly Phillips posted nine saves in her fifth personal win, gathering 19 over her last two trips and 47 since March 25.
- Nearly half of Hammond's 30 goals on the semester have occurred during the most pivotal period of the schedule, scattering an .828 shot-on-goal percentage in her four Big South matchups. As a collective whole, Presbyterian has found the back of the net eight times in free-position chances over the past three weeks, winning 29 draw controls in league territory.
