Cross Country Begins the Season at Belmont Opener on Friday Morning

The Presbyterian College men's and women's cross country teams begin the 2023 season on Friday morning at the Belmont  Opener in Nashville, Tennessee. The women's 5K is set to begin at 10:15 a.m. on Friday while the men's 5K begins at 11 a.m. Both races are scheduled to take place at Percy Warner Park in Nashville.

About the Meet
The Belmont Opener will have the following teams joining the Blue Hose on Friday morning: Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Belmont, Dalton State, Lipscomb, Murray State, Southern Illinois, Trevecca, Vanderbilt, West Georgia, and Western Kentucky.

About the Blue Hose
  • Presbyterian coach GJ Hudgens is in his sixth season as the Blue Hose head coach.
  • Presbyterian's women's team returns five letterwiners while welcoming three newcomers to the 2023 roster.
  • The men's team has eight returning letterwinners while adding three newcomers.
 
2023 Slate
  • The race in Belmont is the first of four regular-season races for the Blue Hose in 2023. • Next, the Presbyterian travels to Charlotte in two weeks for the Queen City Invite.
  • Then, the Blue Hose go to Florida to run in the FSU Invite on September 29.
  • The regular season ends in Spartanburg, South Carolina at the USC Upstate Invite on October 14.
  • The Big South Conference Championship is in Salem, Virginia on October 28.
