RADFORD, Va. – The Presbyterian College women's soccer team has officially hit the midway dot on the 2023 campaign, making the transition to Big South Conference territory this weekend on a visit to Radford. First touch in Virginia is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday, broadcasted by ESPN+.
Following a hectic opening half that led to a two-all stalemate at Jacksonville earlier this month, the Blue Hose have been bested in consecutive contests against Davidson and Western Carolina, dropping a 4-0 decision to the Catamounts in their last encounter eight days back.
PC will look to right the ship in a hostile environment, opening the eight-match league layout by taking on a team that currently holds the second-highest win count (four) in the division.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Claiming the 2022 Big South Tournament crown (a feat they have achieved eight times overall and thrice in the past five seasons), Radford has followed up on last year's NCAA Tourney birth by achieving four W's to this point.
- Three of those four victories have been cemented via shutout, blanking Emory & Henry in the fall opener before doing the same to Mount St. Mary's and Hampton. Additionally, the Highlanders stymied Richmond in what amounted to a scoreless tie.
- After dropping a 3-1 clash to the Tennessee Volunteers, head coach Ben Sohrabi's club went on to win by that same margin three days later over Appalachian State. The Highlanders will battle PC in a bit of a sour mood, however, tasting a 2-1 loss to Wofford exactly one week ago in Spartanburg.
- Each score in that loss to the Terriers happened in the second period, with Radford's June Stevens landing a 57
th minute strike that trimmed the deficit in half. The Highlanders were kept off the board from there, sending them back home where they hold a perfect record thus far on the semester (4-0).
LAST TIME OUT
- Prior to Thursday's nonconference curtain call against Western Carolina, Presbyterian honored five individuals on Senior Night for their four-year contributions to the program.
Mackenzie Azuero,
Caitlin Murphy,
Mia Prieto,
Reyna Coston, and
Kali Zmistowski were all apart of the ceremony that included family, friends, and a raucous ovation from those on hand at Martin Stadium.
- On the field, the Blue Hose were unable to slow down a fast-paced WCU attack that led to a pair of successful strikes in either half. Despite the loss, PC is still registering a respectable 10.4 shots per contest while battling through some untimely injuries to vital pieces of the offense.
- During the abbreviated spring '21 campaign (of which those aforementioned seniors were in the midst of their debut season at the college level), the Blue Hose reached a 1-0 victory off of an 83
rd minute blow.
- Since then, Radford has seized the past two W's in the series by respective margins of 3-0 and 5-2. In last fall's defeat to the Highlanders from Clinton, it would be
Madison Hindman and
Sloan Spees to tally the team's scores.
