KENNESAW, Ga. – Less than a week after beginning the 2024 campaign in their own backyard, the Presbyterian College lacrosse team will see the opposite end of the coin tomorrow evening in the state of Georgia. A quick trip to Kennesaw State will be in the cards, scheduled for 7:00 PM.
The sixth all-time meeting between the two schools of Big South and ASUN designation, PC aims to halt a three-match losing skid against the Owls that dates back to 2017. In fact, every encounter between Presby and KSU save for the inaugural one has been held in Kennesaw.
Head coach
Eric Clakeley has faced off with Thursday's opponent twice in his five seasons at the helm, most recently in 2022 where an 18-8 final margin was carried out.
The Peach State has served as a wealthy recruiting pool for the Blue Hose over the years, with tomorrow's clash bringing nine members of the roster back to their homeland of Georgia. Among those natives, newbie
Emma Claire Mills was just selected as the Big South Freshman of the Week for her effort in a 20-7 loss to Stetson last Saturday.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Kennesaw State rolled through their first challenger of 2024 just two days ago, blitzing Reinhardt by a 20-4 margin. KSU hopes to channel that momentum into a more consistent spring compared to last year, where they limped to a 4-13 final mark.
- A one-and-done exit in the ASUN Tournament nine months ago, the Owls made a strong statement in the aforementioned Monday victory, scoring at least four times in each period while finding six multi-goal performances scattered around the roster.
- Head coach Laura Maness will go through a Big South gauntlet during the non-conference trajectory, going head-to-head with six different BSC clubs that starts with the Blue Hose tomorrow night.
LAST TIME OUT
- While Mills and preseason all-league recipient
Willow Hammond both hit the back of the net twice over the weekend, Presbyterian was ultimately bested by the Hatters of Stetson at Bailey Memorial Stadium four days back. The final tally read 20-7 despite PC cutting the deficit to a pair midway through the 2
nd.
-
Mickey Paredes,
Abby Edmisten, and
Kaylie Rittmueller added to Presby's goal count on Saturday, although a 9-1 spurt from the visitors pushed the difference to a much wider gap.
- Last spring, coach Clakeley's unit found their highest level of success when competing away from Clinton (five of their six wins coming as the visiting party), a statistic that bodes well for the Blue Hose as they look to get back to .500 in the early stages of the semester.
