Blue Hose Go to Wofford for Season-Ender

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Presbyterian College lacrosse team is approaching the end of the road for the 2024 campaign, participating in the season finale on Saturday with a short skip to Wofford at 1:00 PM.

Hoping to finish out the schedule on a high note and deliver the Terriers a loss for the second consecutive time, the Blue Hose will be in search of their third road win over the past two months and second inside of Big South classification.

In what's remained a tight series since the two clubs began to meet annually in 2018, PC's 12-8 triumph in Clinton last spring evened up the all-time tally at three games apiece.

Having been mathematically eliminated from the four-team Big South tournament with one matchup to go, Presbyterian will focus all their efforts on a season-ending W against an SC opponent that has won three of their past five affairs.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

- The Terriers will enter the last day of the regular season with their tournament fate undecided, currently just one game away from the number four spot (a position in the standings that is held by Longwood, whom Wofford fell to by a 15-11 clip earlier this month).

- Head coach Jessie Aguglia's unit has put themselves on the doorstep of the postseason by beating Radford, Winthrop, and Gardner-Webb, although taking a hit in their most recent encounter versus top-seed Mercer in a 21-13 setback.

- Wofford has split half of their victories in terms of location – a trio at home and a trio on the road – ranking third in the Big South with 13 goals per contest.

- Offering up an average of 21 shots-on-goal, the Terriers are boosted by junior Bria Foley who leads the entire conference in total assists (38) and points per game (five). Emma Stalteri is the team's leading goal-getter with 40 connections on the year (sixth in the division).

LAST TIME OUT

- A slow start came back to damage the Blue Hose in the long run throughout the Bailey Memorial Stadium curtain call, as head coach Eric Clakeley's crew saw a match-ending 5-0 run from Winthrop translate to an 11-9 defeat.

- Presbyterian held the Eagles without anything on the board for over 30 minutes of game-time, utilizing six unanswered strikes to take a three-score advantage midway through the 3rd. Unfortunately for the Scotsmen, they entered a cold spell themselves down the stretch, held scoreless in the 4th.

- Dating back to 2023, PC's last three conference wins have occurred when they've played the visiting role, looking to make it four tomorrow. When Presby last took on the Terriers, they notched three goals in every period to achieve a four-score result.

- Clakeley downed Wofford in his first attempt as well (2021), earning a 16-9 decision in Spartanburg that they'll hope to replicate in 24 hours.
