HIGH POINT, N.C. – With the final five regular season matchups still to come for the Presbyterian College lacrosse team, a sequence of two road bouts is set for the near future. Head coach
Eric Clakeley's club will visit High Point tomorrow evening, battling the Panthers at 5:00 PM.
ESPN+ will have live coverage of the Big South encounter, with the Blue Hose touring the Tar Heel State over their next two meetings.
Prior to a Saturday trip to Gardner-Webb, Presbyterian will take on an HPU opponent who has consistently been at or near the top of the league standings. They'll aim for their first-ever victory against the Panthers, narrowly dropping a 16-12 decision last spring.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Possessors of a well-rounded offensive attack, HPU rebounded from a tight defeat at reigning conference champion Mercer's hands to produce a combined 40 goals in the two affairs since.
- Reaching 20 scores in consecutive clashes which amounted to a 10-point triumph over Winthrop and a 14-point blowout against G-W, High Point has amassed an average of 12 goals per game overall and 15 in games where they pulled out a win.
- Both of HPU's Big South victories have occurred on the road, currently holding more W's as the visitors than on their home turf (3-2 versus 2-3). They downed former conference member Campbell and San Diego State at Vert Stadium in February and March respectively.
- The director of High Point LAX since 2009, head coach Lyndsey Boswell has surpassed 150 wins with the Panthers in a decade-and-a-half. She has the Panthers in 4
th place across the latest league standings, trailing only undefeated schools in Mercer, Longwood, and Furman.
LAST TIME OUT
- Presbyterian's attack was slowed somewhat in a Saturday loss against South Carolina neighbor Furman after logging a season-best 13 goals opposite Longwood, taking a 17-6 setback to the Paladins that brings PC to an 0-3 divisional record.
- Coach Clakeley's unit has been given a tough draw from a scheduling perspective, finding their first two road Big South events against some of the best that the league has to offer. Two of Presby's three conference W's in 2023 came as the visiting side, besting Radford and Winthrop.
- The Scotsmen brought their A-game when hosting High Point nearly a full 365 days ago, keeping pace with the Panthers thanks to six combined strikes by
Abby Edmisten and
Willow Hammond.
- That duo (a super-senior and junior, respectively) is still dominating Presbyterian's stat sheets by adding up for 31 scores and nine more assists since the beginning of the campaign.
- In Edmisten's case, the Georgia native has seemingly done all there is to do in a PC uniform by setting all-time school records in both total goals (144) and overall points (180).
- A great deal of PC's contributors call themselves underclassmen, including rookies
Kaylie Rittmueller and
Emma Claire Mills (28 combined points), sophomore defender
Avery West (team-leading 32 ground balls and 22 caused turnovers), and regular starting keeper
Kayleigh Aitken (43 saves in over 345 minutes).
