SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's golf team teed off in its penultimate fall tournament on Monday at the Terrier Intercollegiate, tallying a total of 664 (+88) through the first 36 holes at the Country Club of Spartanburg.
PC currently sits in 12th place in the event, five shots ahead of fellow Big South member USC Upstate. Through 36 holes, East Tennessee State sits at the top of the leaderboard with a total score of 593, six strokes ahead of host Wofford. UNC Asheville and Elon are tied for third in the event, sitting with a score of 609.
The final 18 holes of the tournament will be played on Tuesday.
NOTABLES
- Sloane Spessard concluded the day with Presbyterian's best individual score, ending the day in a tie for 35th place. She shot rounds of 80 and 79, amassing a total of three birdies through 36 holes. She finished the back nine in round two on a high note, playing the final five holes at -1.
- Maddie Peake tied PC's low round of the day in her second round with a 79. In her second round, she made a total of 11 pars and currently sits four shots behind Spessard with a total score of 163.
- Taylor Reaves, Emma Louise Hunt, and Addy Parker all finished within five shots of one another to round out the Blue Hose. Parker made two birdies on the back nine in her first round, including one on her last hole (the 13th). She finished the day with a score of 177. Reaves and Hunt each carded a birdie through 36. Reaves posted a 172, while Hunt carded a 174.
