ROCK HILL, S.C. – Senior McKenzie Davis and freshman Ladina Bruhin won the doubles title of the 2025 Big South Fall Individual Championships, held at the Rock Hill Tennis Center from Oct. 24-26.
The No. 3 seed Davis and Bruhin picked up three wins over the weekend to claim the title, clinching the championship on Sunday (Oct. 26) with an 8-4 win in the final over the No. 5 seed Marina Skegro and Carlota Farres of Charleston Southern. In the semifinals on Saturday (Oct. 25), Davis and Bruhin picked up a narrow win over the No. 2 seed Emma Shasteen and Arili Boshoff of Gardner-Webb in a tiebreak 8-7 (7-3).
The victory gives Davis and Bruhin automatic entry into the ITA Conference Masters Championships, being held Nov. 6-9 at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. Three doubles teams will qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place). The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships will take place in Lake Nona, Fla. from Nov. 18-23.
Davis, Bruhin, and Roxy Valdes
all competed for the Blue Hose over the weekend. Davis and Valdes played in the singles main draw, while Davis and Bruhin partnered together in doubles.
This was the second-ever edition of the Big South Fall Individual Championships. Last year's tournament in the fall was the inaugural championship.
