CHARLESTON, S.C. – The sixth-ranked Presbyterian College women's wrestling team split its two duals against No. 1 Iowa and Delaware State in the annual "Throwdown on the Yorktown" on the USS Yorktown naval aircraft carrier on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 15).
The Blue Hose fell to the top-ranked Hawkeyes 35-9 before finishing the day with a 40-6 victory over the Hornets.
Against No. 1 Iowa, No. 5 Alyssa Mahan picked up a win at 124 pounds for the Blue Hose over Cali Leng. No. 6 May Culyer also picked up a win over Cadence Diduch at 160 pounds.
To finish the day, Jenna Anderson, Isabella Gretzinger, Laura Ruiz Diaz, and Henlee Haynes won via pin over Delaware State for PC. Grace York and Carina Giangeruso both won by technical fall. Finally, Mahan and Lexi Fornshell won by decision over the Hornets.
