Presbyterian dropped both of its games at the FIU Thanksgiving Classic last weekend in Miami, finishing the event with a 68-48 loss to UMBC on Sunday.
Ja'Cia Cunningham scored a combined 40 points in both games, scoring game-highs in both. She scored a season-high 25 points on 10-of-19 shooting against Seattle on Friday. For her performance, she was named to the All-Tournament team. Against UMBC, Krystal Haddock led the team in rebounds with 6, while Daniella Velez recorded three
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Ja'Cia Cunningham enters Wednesday coming off a 40-point weekend in Miami in PC's two games. She paces the Blue Hose offensively, averaging 13.1 points per game off the bench to lead the team in scoring and rank fifth in the Big South. She has scored in double figures for the Blue Hose five times so far this year. Aminata Tal is the second-leading scorer for the Blue Hose, scoring 11.3 points per game on 40.7 percent shooting from the field. Allie Sykes leads the team in three point shooting, making 17 of her 43 threes (39.5 percent). She also leads the Blue Hose from the free throw line, making 12 of her 13 attempts this season.
Morgan Boyd is the only player to start all nine games so far this year for PC. She leads the team in rebounding, averaging 5.2 per game. Ore Ogunwolere leads the Blue Hose in assists and steals. She has 24 assists and 15 steals on the year, ranking in the top 10 of the league in both categories.
As a team, the Blue Hose rank as one of the best rebounding teams in the conference. PC sits in third in rebounding and second in offensive rebounds per game.
SCOUTING THE PALADINS
Furman enters Wednesday's game coming off a win on Saturday (Nov. 29) against UNC Asheville 74-67. Clare Coyle leads the Paladins in scoring and rebounding, averaging 11.8 points and 7 rebounds per game. She posted 14 points and 8 rebounds against the Bulldogs in Furman's last outing. Chauntelle Stuart leads the Paladins in minutes per game and assists on the season.
As a team, Furman is second in the Southern Conference in rebounding, averaging 39.6 rebounds per game. The Paladins lead the league in steals and blocks. Last season, Furman finished with a 16-16 record and a 5-9 mark in conference play. Head coach Pierre Curtis is in his third season
PRESBYTERIAN – FURMAN ALL-TIME SERIES
The Paladins lead the all-time series with the Blue Hose 9-1. Furman has won the last three meetings with PC's lone victory coming in 2017. The last meeting between the two teams came in 2022 with Furman winning 67-60 in Clinton. PC last traveled to play Furman in 2021.
BLUE HOSE ROSTER
Joining the Blue Hose this season are nine newcomers (four transfers and five freshmen). The transfers for Coach Sardin are Ore Ogunwolere, Ja'Cia Cunningham, Krystal Haddock, and Laetitia Kamdoum.
Freshmen Aretha Linger, Yolanda Floyd, Allie Sykes, Samantha Mullock, and Amani Williams also join the Blue Hose. This is the most freshmen the Blue Hose have had on the roster since the 2022-23 season (also five).
The Blue Hose also return four from last year's roster. Seniors Shelby Fiddler and Aminata Tal lead the returners for PC. Sophomores Morgan Boyd and Daniella Velez also are back for the Blue Hose this season.
THE 2025-26 NON-CONFERENCE SLATE
Presbyterian's non-conference lineup includes five home contests and six road games, featuring a notable road matchup against ACC opponent Virginia Tech on Dec. 10.
PC's remaining home non-conference schedule includes Eastern Kentucky on Dec. 19, and Jacksonville State on Dec. 21.
BIG SOUTH SCHEDULE
Conference play begins December 31 for the Blue Hose, with PC set to take on each of its eight Big South opponents twice in a balanced home-and-away schedule.
At Templeton, PC will face Radford on Dec. 31, High Point on Jan. 7, UNC Asheville on Jan. 17, Charleston Southern on Jan. 24, USC Upstate on Feb. 4, Gardner-Webb on Feb. 14, Winthrop on Feb. 18, and Longwood on Feb. 28.
On the road, the Blue Hose will take on Longwood on Jan. 3, USC Upstate on Jan. 14, Gardner-Webb on Jan. 21, Winthrop on Jan. 28, High Point on Jan. 31, Charleston Southern on Feb. 7, UNC Asheville on Feb. 21, and Radford on Feb. 25.
LAST SEASON
The Blue Hose finished with a 6-24 record and a 4-12 mark in the Big South in the first season of head coach Tiffany Sardin. In league play, the Blue Hose picked up back-to-back wins against USC Upstate on Jan. 8 and UNC Asheville on Jan. 11. Later in the season, the Blue Hose delivered a road win at Radford, taking down the Highlanders 78-71. In non-conference action, Presbyterian picked up wins against NC Central and Newberry.
