Northeastern Visitors at Lacrosse on Sunday & Tuesday

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College lacrosse team's six-game homestand rolls on over the weekend and beyond with two opponents in the near future from the Northeast Conference, as the Blue Hose battle Delaware State on Sunday afternoon followed by Mercyhurst next Tuesday.

In the midst of the program's longest sequence of home matches since 2007, PC will search for their first win of the young campaign on March 2 against a DSU foe that will be looking to check off that same goal.

From there, Presby will entertain a first-year Division I institution from Erie, Pennsylvania 48 hours after finishing with the Hornets. That matchup with Mercyhurst will be streamed live on ESPN+.

SCOUTING DELAWARE STATE

- Unblemished in seven attempts against Delaware State dating back 11 years, the Blue Hose will be in pursuit of their first home win since 2023 on Sunday. They'll face a DSU adversary who has been outscored 53-12 in its first three outings.

- Each of the Hornets' defeats has been by a resounding margin, falling to La Salle (15-4), UMBC (20-5), and most recently against Big South member Radford (18-3).

- Before venturing to Bailey Memorial, Delaware State will first take on Furman in Greenville which is tabbed for a 6:00 PM start on Friday evening.

- Presbyterian has calculated at least 16 scores in five of their seven matches with DSU, although the last affair two years ago was the tightest finish: an 11-10 decision in Dover where Melissa Mucollari and Willow Hammond sealed the deal with two goals in the final 4:50.

SCOUTING MERCYHURST

- Converting to the D-I ranks after spending their past affiliation with the PSAC, Mercyhurst has begun the '25 slate at 0-2 with losses to Lindenwood and Duquesne in Pittsburgh by seven points.

- Just like Delaware State, the Lakers will firstly encounter Furman prior to the PC affair. Lindsay Weaver enters her second season with the program after a 4-12 mark in their final year of Division II status.

- Mercyhurst hung right with the Dukes on Thursday – trailing 14-12 after three full quarters – but were outgunned in the final frame by five. Whitley Easton and Meghan Nasman combined for seven goals in the setback, surrendering 39 shots (11 in the last period).

LAST TIME OUT

- Presbyterian's offense awoke earlier this week in the home opener against Eastern Michigan, producing 10 goals in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters. However, EMU accounted for a game-changing 6-0 run just before halftime and another streak of seven unanswered down the stretch for a 19-10 victory.

- The senior/sophomore combination of Hammond and Emma Claire Mills was a formidable duo in the loss, adding up for six scores, nine draw control wins, and 11 shots-on-goal.

- Elsewhere, freshman Emily Currie logged her first career multi-goal performance which boosts her personal tally up to four.

- Hammond, Mills, Currie, and Alyssa Perez have reached 17 of the Scotsmen's 19 goals through the first three bouts, while junior keeper Kayleigh Aitken leads the way in the save department with 16 stoppages.
