SCOUTING MERRIMACK
- An NCAA Division I institution for six years now, Merrimack comes to Clinton for the first time while still trying to get the monkey off their back with a winless record.
- Most of the Warriors' losses have been near misses, including their most recent attempt in a 14-10 defeat at the hands of New Hampshire in Massachusetts. They've lost three duels by four goals or less, dropping their only other road affairs to Rhode Island and Boston University.
- Head coach Jen Fox Sargent is in her fourth season with Merrimack, going 4-12 a year ago in the Northeast Conference. Tomorrow will be their first-ever meeting against a school from the state of South Carolina.
LAST TIME OUT
- Presbyterian found the perfect blend of steady offense and blinding defense as they stomped the FDU Knights on a rainy Monday afternoon, winning their second bout of the spring by double digits (15-5).
- Entering the contest with 99 career goals, senior midfielder
Willow Hammond needed less than two minutes to become the third all-time Blue Hose player to reach the mountain of 100. She and freshman
Emily Currie have added up for 38 goals this season at 19 apiece.
- The Scotsmen rounded up their best defensive effort of 2025 in the FDU blowout, holding the Knights scoreless in both the 2
nd and 4
th periods. PC utilized the mercy rule for the second time this year, denying Fairleigh Dickinson any scores over a 25-minute stint mid-match.
- Ten different players have mustered at least one goal for head coach
Eric Clakeley's squad, while keeper
Kayleigh Aitken and junior defender
Avery West have added up for 36 ground ball pickups.
- West also ranks third in the Big South with 13 caused turnovers at this stage of the campaign, a preseason All-Conference selection who already ranks fourth in school history for that category.
