Blue Hose Sent to Georgia for Non-Conference Closer

KENNESAW, Ga. – Now that the Presbyterian College lacrosse team's six-game homestand is in the rearview mirror, the Blue Hose will prepare for their third match of the week tomorrow in what will be their first road appearance in almost a full month. They'll meet Kennesaw State at 12:00 PM Saturday, the ninth and last non-conference setup.

Head coach Eric Clakeley's squad split those six straight games at Bailey Memorial Stadium, winning and dropping three apiece. PC was last seen just two days back in a 15-9 defeat to Northeast Conference member Merrimack, hoping to rebound against the Owls.

Presby will not only aim to get back in the win column, but they'll also seek out a dose of revenge over KSU whom they lost to last spring 22-12 at the same venue.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

- Setting the stage for a matchup between two schools that have nearly the same record, Kennesaw comes into Saturday with a case of bipolar syndrome. They've enjoyed some quality wins during the first month of the season, but have yet to string two W's in a row thus far.

- Both of the Owls' Division I victories have occurred over Big South representatives, slamming Gardner-Webb 17-5 and winning a shootout over Wofford in their last bout on Sunday 16-14.

- Shannon Harrington and Alyssa Angelo added up for nine KSU goals in that offense-heavy clash. The problem for Kennesaw has been on the defensive side of the field, giving up nearly 17 scores per game in losses.

- Head coach Laura Maness leads the charge in her ninth season with the Owls, with the aforementioned Wofford triumph being their first win of the calendar on their home site.

LAST TIME OUT

- PC's midweek momentum was slowed on Wednesday after gaining a 10-point W over Fairleigh Dickinson, falling to Merrimack by six on an evening where they surrendered the lead in the 2nd period and could never grasp it again.

- Sophomore attacker Hannah Savage produced a hat trick in three quarters – the first of her blossoming career – while senior Willow Hammond posted the same number after hitting her 100th career goal less than two minutes into the FDU blowout.

- Tomorrow will be the Scotsmen's first true road event since February 22 (a 16-4 setback to Mid-American Conference stalwart Akron), looking to win away from Clinton for the first time in 2025.

- Newbie Emily Currie is PC's current points leader with 25, while junior keeper Kayleigh Aitken has assembled the second-most ground balls of anyone in the Big South (21).
