CLINTON, S.C. – Settling in quite nicely over the course of their six-game homestand thanks to an offense that has reached new heights, the Presbyterian College lacrosse team will look to push their winning streak up to three tomorrow versus Detroit Mercy at Bailey Memorial Stadium.
It'll be another fast turnaround for the Blue Hose after dealing with the Titans at 3:00 PM, shifting attention to Fairleigh Dickinson on Monday for an 11:00 AM start. This is the program's longest sequence of home-only matches since 2007.
There has been a lot to celebrate for head coach
Eric Clakeley over the last two outings, compiling 18 goals in a blowout over Delaware State before then emerging on the right side of a 20-19 shootout earlier this week against Mercyhurst.
Presby's 38 goals in their last two games are the most that the school has ever seen over a two-match window, boasting the highest shot percentage of anyone in the Big South (.429).

SCOUTING DETROIT MERCY
- Facing each other every year from 2009-2012 but having a 13-season hiatus in the all-time series, Detroit Mercy comes to Clinton for the first time in over a decade and currently holds an identical record to the Scotsmen.
- The Titans' 2025 start has been either drastically good or quite the opposite, losing their first two (including a 21-1 shellacking at Arizona State) but then rebounding for two straight W's over Canisius and Kennesaw State by five points each.
- They dipped back into the loss column on Wednesday night, however, falling to Furman in Greenville by an 18-12 count which moves the Paladins to a perfect 5-0.
- Detroit Mercy made a change of leadership last August, appointing Alex Matta as the school's newest head coach. The Titans are averaging 12 goals per game in wins, compared to just six per game whenever tasting defeat.
SCOUTING FAIRLEIGH DICKINSON
- Only time will tell what FDU's full background will be by the time they venture to Bailey Memorial next Monday, going up against Charlotte and Winthrop before scouting Clakeley's club.
- The last of a three-game stay in the Carolinas for head coach Jessica Pandolf – the program's only director since its start in 2021 – Fairleigh Dickinson's lone win as of Thursday morning was a 12-11 thriller over La Salle in Philadelphia.
- Remarkably, the Knights managed to win that meeting despite scoring only one goal in the entire second half (a 4
th-quarter connection with nine minutes still left). An 11-4 halftime lead was just enough for FDU to avoid an Explorer rally, giving up their last score with 4:01 remaining but able to hold on.
- Fairleigh Dickinson's offense has taken an opposite turn compared to PC's skyrocketing attack, held to just nine goals combined in back-to-back losses against Manhattan and Rhode Island.
LAST TIME OUT
- Tuesday's instant classic versus Mercyhurst was the highest-scoring match that Presbyterian has been a part of since a 2014 affair against St. Mary's (California). The Blue Hose gathered at least four goals in every quarter, including six in the opening period and 10 total in the second half.
- Senior midfielder
Kenzie Partsch turned in the best performance of her collegiate career in the shootout, scoring five times. Her 3:02 goal in the last chapter would ultimately prevent the game from creeping into overtime.
- The same can be said for freshman
Morgan Thompson's denial of the Lakers with 1:17 on the clock, her seventh save of the night and undoubtedly the biggest of them all.
- It's been only four days since newbie
Emily Currie was chosen as the Big South Freshman of the Week, unanimously given the award after collecting seven goals in the Delaware State victory. That's the most of any PC freshman in the program's near-two-decade existence.
- Somewhat lost in the shuffle of the Mercyhurst win was sophomore
Emma Claire Mills pouring in a career-high four assists. A testament to the quality of offense on display, six different Presbyterian players managed at least two goals in the win over the Lakers.
- A captain of PC's stout attack, senior
Willow Hammond needs just three more goals to become the third person in school history to ascend to triple digits in that department. She currently sits at 97 scores after putting in a season-high five goals on Tuesday.
