Lacrosse Rumbles with Wofford on Senior Day

CLINTON, S.C. – It all comes down to this for the Presbyterian College lacrosse team in the final match of the 2025 regular season, aiming to cease a nine-year postseason drought by welcoming Wofford at 1:00 PM tomorrow.

A victory over the Terriers – who PC vanquished the last time they visited Bailey Memorial Stadium two years ago – plus a Radford win over Gardner-Webb would send the Blue Hose to the Big South Tournament as the number six-seed.

Only the top six in the nine-team league advance to the bracket, pulling out all the stops in an emotional '25 finale that will also serve as Senior Day for seven special players under the Eric Clakeley regime.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

- Saturday will be a hugely important matchup for Presbyterian, facing a rival less than 30 minutes down the road who seems to be peeking at the right time. Wofford has tasted the W in four of their last five encounters, including a 16-4 route over Gardner-Webb last weekend.

- In seven Big South appearances, the Terriers are averaging nearly 14 goals per game. They've rebounded exquisitely from a 1-6 start, holding an even 4-4 record in road matches this spring.

- Head coach Jessie Aguglia is wrapping up her third season in charge, falling to the Blue Hose in her only other visit to Clinton two years ago (a 12-8 decision where PC scored thrice in all four quarters).

- Wofford's greatest weapon is senior attacker Bria Foley, an individual who has tallied 86 points on the year. That's the second-most of anyone in the league, scoring 48 goals next to 38 assists.

LAST TIME OUT

- It was a moment of euphoria for sophomore Emma Claire Mills and her Blue Hose teammates on Saturday, beating Longwood with 1.8 seconds on the clock to win a crucial conference match away from home.

- That bout against the Lancers featured a bit of everything, including a 10-4 PC advantage that slowly dissipated into a late Longwood lead with under three minutes left.

- Freshman phenom Emily Currie tied the game for the fifth time with 81 seconds to go, and after Presby won the ensuing draw control, it was Mills who avoided overtime with a sensational last-second heave to put PC a step closer to that elusive postseason bid.
