SCOUTING THE OPPONENT

- It's been an exceptional debut season for head coach Kevin Fagan's crew, sending the Highlanders to the best league record of the seven teams in the division after four previous seasons at Division II Emmanuel.

- Radford is holding down the #25 spot in the D1 Softball Mid-Major rankings, their third week in the poll thanks to eight wins in the month of April. They've yet to lose a Big South series, but were beaten twice by Sun Belt foe Marshall in their most recent appearance.

- The Highlanders own two non-conference victories over other schools in the mid-major top 25 (wins over Charlotte 6-1 and UNC Greensboro 1-0). They also knocked off Louisville – a representative of the ACC – by a 3-1 tally in February.

- Guaranteed to be the number-one seed in next week's Big South Championship bracket, Radford clocks in at number 93 in the latest NCAA RPI rankings (their first time landing a spot in the top 100 since 2018).

- Dakota Redmon leads the Highlanders' pitching unit with a 2.47 ERA over 159 innings. She's struck out 121 batters and owns a 15-8 personal record.

LAST TIME OUT

- Although the Blue Hose came up short in the overall series at Winthrop last weekend, the ending was a solid one for head coach David Williams' club as they squeezed out a 4-3 win.

- Games two and three against the Eagles were decided by only one run, meaning that PC has now participated in 13 games this spring where the final difference was just one.

- Junior Peyton Duncan was superb in the penultimate Big South affair, holding Winthrop scoreless in 12 of the 14 innings that she threw while totaling 14 strikeouts.

- The Eagles threatened to walk-off the Blue Hose in the last game of the series which would've meant a sweep, although Duncan managed to dig down and reach three consecutive K's with runners on the corners to end the contest.

SENIOR DAY

- Spending her last three seasons with Presbyterian after transferring in from Georgia State, Fletcher's senior season has been her best statistically thanks to a .319 average and .489 slugging percentage. She has 15 extra-base swings to her credit this year and holds three-year totals of 47 RBI and 93 hits.

- Another former Georgia State Panther, Yanes has started 70 games in two seasons under Williams and is currently batting .233 as a senior. Shifting between second and third base, she possesses a .957 fielding percentage and four multi-hit efforts throughout this semester.

- Sidelined for a bulk of her senior year due to a shoulder injury, Goodrum has nonetheless been a reliable utility player since 2022 with 376 at-bats to her name and 133 starts at leftfield, shortstop, and third base. Hailing from North Carolina, she doubled four times this spring and was responsible for eight runs.

- Owens has been a powerful hitter since day one at PC after spending her freshman year at Mercer, topping the Big South as a senior with a .475 on-base clip and 15 doubles which ranks just outside the nation's top 30 and ties the Presbyterian single-season record. Her .373 average is the second-best in a sole season among all previous PC players, hitting nine career home runs as well as 32 doubles, 77 RBI, and 46 walks drawn. This year, she has struck out just 11 times in 134 at-bats.
