CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Big South Conference released its annual all-league selections on Thursday afternoon, featuring a couple of Presbyterian College lacrosse superstars on the First and Second Team units.
Junior defender
Avery West has been chosen for All-Big South status for the second consecutive year (this time joining the First Team elite), while midfielder
Willow Hammond repeats her Second Team selection from 2023.
In addition to West and Hammond's all-conference successes, senior
Kenzie Partsch was PC's representative on the Big South All-Academic Team, including one student-athlete per school.
This is the first time since 2015 that two Blue Hose lacrosse players were named All-Big South in the same year, following a 5-12 season that entailed two conference road victories over Radford and Longwood.
AVERY WEST | Jr. | Defender
ALL-BIG SOUTH FIRST TEAM
- Just three days after being picked for Big South Defensive Player of the Week honors, West took a step up the ladder on Thursday as one of 13 players in the division to snare a spot on the First Team list.
- The Texan posted career-highs in both ground balls (eight) and caused turnovers (seven) in the 2025 finale versus Wofford, the latter being the most of any player in the conference all year and the third-highest single-game total in all of NCAA.
- Appearing in 50 out of 51 games thus far for head coach
Eric Clakeley, West has been responsible for 81 caused turnovers in her career (already the third-most in program history with one season of eligibility still left).
- She's added 96 ground balls over her three seasons, becoming the first Presbyterian player since 2018 and 2019 (Hudson Roarick) to be named All-Big South in two straight seasons.
- West ranked 16
th nationally and second in the conference with 35 caused turnovers this spring, also placing 21
st in the country with 44 ground balls.
- She becomes the first Blue Hose in seven years to earn a First-Team shoutout (joining Maura Talvacchia), even scoring her first college goal during the aforementioned Longwood win.
WILLOW HAMMOND | Sr. | Midfield
ALL-BIG SOUTH SECOND TEAM
- Her name littered all over Presbyterian's Division I record book, Hammond hangs up her jersey by becoming the fourth PC player to be named all-conference in at least two separate seasons.
- The team leader in points for three years in a row, Willow ends an exceptional four-year run with 136 career goals. That ranks number three all-time in Presbyterian history, as does her 156 career points.
- Hailing from Georgia, Hammond racked up a team-best 42 goals in her last ride and had 11 multi-goal performances on the season. She produced 20 scores in a six-match window to close out the non-conference portion of the schedule.
- The PC captain launched five connections against three separate opponents as a senior (Mercyhurst, Radford, and Furman), concluding her Blue Hose tenure with 16 hat tricks over the last three seasons.
- She scattered 22 points in Big South territory (18 goals, four assists), while her 14 free-position goals tied for 27
th nationally and second in the league.
KENZIE PARTSCH | Sr. | Midfield
BIG SOUTH ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM
- Included in the starting lineup for the final 33 matches of her college career, Partsch was hand-picked to represent the Blue Hose on the conference's All-Academic squad thanks to a 3.62 GPA in the field of Biochemistry.
- She landed her best statistical campaign in 2025 behind 14 goals, going for a personal-high five scores in a March triumph against Mercyhurst at Bailey Memorial Stadium.
- The Pennsylvania product assembled 26 ground balls as a senior and 19 caused turnovers, ranking second on the roster for the latter. She also secured 14 draw controls, notching one in five out of eight league encounters.
- Partsch has been included on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll in every season that she's resided in Clinton, making the Presbyterian Dean's List five times.
- She is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society, and was recognized last fall by PC officials for her research on "granular jamming that shows promise for the development of a low-cost prosthetic hand."
