Blue Hose Fall to UCF as Final Regular Season Contest

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Presbyterian College baseball team (17-33, Big South: 9-15) wrapped up its regular season on Tuesday night with a 22-4 loss to the UCF Knights (28-24, Big 12: 8-19) at John Euliano Park in Orlando, Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Blue Hose jumped out to a quick lead in the top of the first inning. Trey Fenderson took the first hit of the night with a single to right, and Amman Dewberry reached on a fielder's choice as Fenderson slid safely into second. A passed ball moved both runners into scoring position before Jake Randolph delivered an RBI groundout to bring home Fenderson.
  • Ryan Ouzts followed with a double down the left field line, scoring Dewberry and giving PC an early 2-0 advantage.
  • UCF responded with a seven-run bottom half, highlighted by a grand slam to take a 7-2 lead.
  • The Knights added a run in the second before Randolph singled up the middle and later came around to score on an error in the third, cutting the deficit to 8-3.
  • UCF quickly countered with a solo home run in the bottom of the frame.
  • The Knights continued to add to their lead, scoring one in the fourth, 11 in the sixth, and one in the seventh to take a 22-3 advantage.
  • In the ninth inning, Holden Baker singled before Rhogue Wallace drove him in with an RBI double. Moments later, Aaron Hobson laced a double down the right field line to score Wallace. Despite the late push, UCF held on to secure a 22-5 victory.
