Darby & Duncan Qualify for CSC Academic All-District

CLINTON, S.C. – College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced its annual roundup of Academic All-District members on Tuesday afternoon, an elite list of student-athletes who excelled on both the diamond and in the classroom. Peyton Duncan and Blair Darby of the Presbyterian College softball team both met the strict requirements to land their place on the esteemed list.

Two of twelve players from around the Big South Conference to earn a spot on the CSC Academic All-District group, Duncan and Darby recently completed their junior years for the Blue Hose.

To be considered for CSC Academic All-District, one must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA while also competing in 90 percent of the team's events over the course of the season. Freshmen are ineligible.

Presbyterian posted a 21-29 record in head coach David Williams' seventh season at the helm. Duncan and Darby have contributed to 40 home victories in their time at PC, as the Scotsmen collected five All-Big South awards earlier this month.

PEYTON DUNCAN | Jr. | P
CSC Academic All-District (2x)

- Representing the Blue Hose on the Big South All-Academic Team and nailing a spot on the CSC Academic All-District squad for the second straight year, Duncan has administered a 3.84 grade-point average in the field of Biology.

- Hailing from North Carolina, she has been listed on the conference's Presidential Honor Roll for three consecutive seasons. Additionally, Duncan was included on the PC Dean's List in the fall 2024 semester.

- In possession of one of the deepest workloads in all of NCAA, Duncan's 29 starts ranked seventh in the nation. Her 123 strikeouts were the second-most of any pitcher in the Big South, logging 14 complete games and responsible for 12 individual wins.

- Peyton went at least six innings while allowing two or fewer earned runs against nine separate opponents as a junior. She struck out a minimum of eight batters five times, including 10 apiece versus Norfolk State and North Carolina A&T.

- Duncan finished the campaign with a 3.68 ERA over 163.2 innings, posting 35 more K's than her number of walks.

BLAIR DARBY | Jr. | DP
CSC Academic All-District

- A resident of nearby Spartanburg, Darby recovered smoothly from a season-ending injury in 2024 to play in 46 out of 50 games during her junior round.

- The team's primary DP, Blair secured a solid 3.91 GPA as a Business Administration major. She is already a three-time member of the PC President's List, not to mention two other nods on the school Dean's List. Like Duncan, she has been on the Big South Presidential Honor Roll in each of her three seasons with the program.

- Darby ranked second on the roster with five home runs, scoring 14 times altogether and bringing in 17 runs offensively. She totaled 47 bases and accounted for nine extra-base hits.

- The in-state product published a pair of two-homer outings versus Northern Kentucky and North Carolina A&T, batting .483 over an 11-game stretch in February.
