CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College Blue Hose women's basketball are back in action coming off of its first Big South victory on Wednesday night over Gardner-Webb to face Charleston Southern at home on Friday evening (Jan. 23) at 6:00 p.m.
Friday night's game was originally scheduled to be played on Saturday afternoon but was changed due to potential inclement weather.

LAST TIME OUT
The Blue Hose came from behind in the fourth quarter to pick up a 50-46 road win on Wednesday night (Jan. 21) over Gardner-Webb.
Trailing by one in the final minute, Ja'Cia Cunningham poured in the final five points of the night, helping the Blue Hose outscore Gardner-Webb 20-13 in the fourth quarter to complete the comeback. PC trailed by as many as five in the fourth but rallied down the stretch to pick up its first conference victory.
Aminata Tal powered the Blue Hose offensively, scoring a game-high 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor. Cunningham finished the game with 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting. Krystal Haddock pitched in 10 points as well for Presbyterian.
The Blue Hose dominated the Runnin' Bulldogs all game defensively, holding Gardner-Webb to just 28.3 percent shooting on the night. PC also dominated the boards, outrebounding Gardner-Webb 43-24.
BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Senior Ja'Cia Cunningham powers the PC offense this year, sitting in the top 20 of the Big South averaging 10.3 points per game. She leads Presbyterian going into the weekend in field goals made (70) and is tied for the team lead in made free throws (32). She is also second on the team in made threes with 11. Fellow senior Aminata Tal also paces PC offensively, averaging 8.6 points per game. She is second on the team in scoring and field goals made with 66 this season.
Junior Ore Ogunwolere leads the Blue Hose this year in both assists (49) and steals (30). She ranks eighth in the league in assists per game, averaging 2.72. She also leads PC in minutes per game (28.6). Sophomore Daniella Velez is second on the team in assists (34) and steals (25). She has started in 13 games and is third on the team in total minutes with 433 minutes played.
Freshman Allie Sykes has been PC's best shooter from both the three-point line and the free throw line this season. She has drained 26 threes coming into Friday night, good for 14th in the league. She has also made 16 of her 18 total free throw attempts for Presbyterian.
Sophomore Krystal Haddock is second on the team in total rebounds this year (79) and minutes per game (26.2). She especially powers the Blue Hose on the offensive glass, leading the team with 32 offensive rebounds. She is also second on the team in starts made with 14 this season.
CAREER-HIGHS
Several Blue Hose players have had career-highs so far in conference play this year. In Presbyterian's win over Gardner-Webb on Wednesday, Aminata Tal tied her career-high with nine made field goals, setting a new season-high. Ore Ogunwolere recorded a career-high eight rebounds for the Blue Hose against the Runnin' Bulldogs. She also tied her career-high in assists with six. Amani Williams logged seven rebounds for the third straight game, tying her career-high (also seven).
Krystal Haddock and Morgan Boyd each had career games earlier in conference play at Longwood (Jan. 3). Haddock scored a career-high 18 points to lead all scorers. Boyd poured in a career-high 16 points for PC, making 8-of-12 free throws on the afternoon (both career-highs as well).
SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
Charleston Southern enters Friday night with a 3-3 conference mark and a 5-14 overall record. The Buccaneers started Big South play 2-0 but have lost three of their last four going into Friday evening. The Buccaneers have not played since they lost to Gardner-Webb 52-45 last Saturday. Tyonna Bailey leads the team on the offensive end, averaging 15.7 points per game. She is third in the league in scoring. Caelan Ellis also averages in double figures (13.0 points per game) while sitting in second in the conference in made threes (53). Finally, Asha Sra has been one of the league's best performers, ranking second in the Big South in assists with 4.3 per game. Head coach Clarisse White is in her fifth season as the captain of the Buccaneers.
PRESBYTERIAN – CHARLESTON SOUTHERN ALL-TIME SERIES
The Blue Hose have a narrow edge in the all-time series with the Buccaneers, leading the series 21-19. Charleston Southern won both matchups last season and have won four of the past five meetings overall. Presbyterian last took down the Buccaneers in Clinton on Feb. 25, 2023.
BLUE HOSE ROSTER
Joining the Blue Hose this season are eight newcomers (three transfers and five freshmen). The transfers for Coach Sardin are Ore Ogunwolere (Union College), Ja'Cia Cunningham (Chicago State), and Krystal Haddock (Tennessee State).
Freshmen Aretha Linger, Yolanda Floyd, Allie Sykes, Samantha Mullock, and Amani Williams also join the Blue Hose. This is the most freshmen the Blue Hose have had on the roster since the 2022-23 season (also five).
The Blue Hose also return four from last year's roster. Seniors Shelby Fiddler and Aminata Tal lead the returners for PC. Sophomores Morgan Boyd and Daniella Velez also are back for the Blue Hose this season.
