LAST TIME OUT
Presbyterian suffered a 74-42 defeat to Winthrop on Wednesday night at Winthrop Coliseum in Rock Hill.

 

The Blue Hose stayed with the Eagles in the first quarter but were outscored 56-27 the remainder of the game. Krystal Haddock recorded her second straight double-double for the Blue Hose, leading PC with 16 points and 12 rebounds (eight offensive). She finished the night with four made field goals and went 8-of-12 from the free throw line. 


Daniella Velez poured in three treys from the outside for the Blue Hose. She finished the game with nine points, recording three steals as well. As a team, the Blue Hose outrebounded the Eagles 39-37. Ore Ogunwolere grabbed seven rebounds, while Aminata Tal logged five. 



BLUE HOSE BY THE NUMBERS
Senior Ja'Cia Cunningham leads the Presbyterian offense coming into this weekend, averaging 14.8 points per game in her last six games. She sits in the top 15 of the Big South in scoring on the year, averaging 10.7 points per contest. She also powers the Blue Hose in field goals made (79). Fellow senior Aminata Tal has also been productive as of late for the Blue Hose, scoring in double figures in two of her last three games. She is PC's second-leading scorer on the season going into Saturday, averaging 8.7 points per game.


Junior Ore Ogunwolere paces Presbyterian on both ends this year in assists (53) and steals (35). She ranks ninth in the league in assists per game averaging 2.65. She also leads the Blue Hose in minutes per game (29.0). Sophomore Daniella Velez is second on the team in assists (34) and steals (28). 


Freshman Allie Sykes has led Presbyterian from distance and the free throw line throughout the season. She has drained 26 threes going into Saturday. She has also made 18 of her 20 total free throw attempts for the Blue Hose. 

Sophomore Krystal Haddock has continued to be on a heater for PC on both ends of the floor, recording double-doubles in back-to-back games. She leads the Presbyterian effort on the boards, grabbing 5.5 rebounds per game. She is averaging 14.3 points per game to go along with 9.8 rebounds in her last four games. She also leads the team in made free throws on the year with 44.



CAREER-HIGHS
Several Blue Hose players have had career-highs in conference play this year. In PC's last game at Winthrop on Wednesday, Daniella Velez tied her career-high with three three-pointers. Krystal Haddock had a career game against Charleston Southern on Jan. 23, recording a career-best 14 rebounds. Aminata Tal also logged a career-high five steals against the Buccaneers. In PC's 50-46 victory over Gardner-Webb on Jan. 21, Tal tied her career-high with nine made field goals. Ore Ogunwolere recorded a career-high eight rebounds for the Blue Hose against the Runnin' Bulldogs. She also tied her career-high in assists with six. 



NEW PROGRAM RECORD
Krystal Haddock delivered a record-breaking performance against Charleston Southern on Jan. 23. She grabbed a single-game program record 12 offensive rebounds against the Buccaneers, shattering the previous record of nine. For her efforts, she was named PC Student-Athlete of the Week on Jan. 27.


 

SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
High Point has been dominant throughout conference play, going into Saturday night's contest with a 19-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in the Big South. The Panthers bring a nine-game win streak into the game and lead the league in several statistical categories. As a team, High Point leads the Big South in scoring defense (allows just 58.3 ppg), scoring margin (+18.3), field goal percentage (46.0 percent), and assist-to-turnover-ratio (1.1). Individually, Macy Spencer leads the league in scoring, averaging 18.9 points per game. Aaliyah Collins leads the conference in field goal percentage, shooting 51.1 percent from the field. Head coach Chelsea Banbury is in her seventh season with the Panthers.

 


PRESBYTERIAN – HIGH POINT ALL-TIME SERIES
The Panthers have a commanding advantage in the head-to-head with Presbyterian, leading the all-time series 31 to 8. High Point has won three straight meetings, including earlier this season in Clinton. The Blue Hose last defeated the Panthers 59-50 on March 9, 2024 at High Point in the semifinals of the Big South Tournament.

 


BLUE HOSE ROSTER
Joining the Blue Hose this season are nine newcomers (four transfers and five freshmen). The transfers for Coach Sardin are Ore Ogunwolere (Union College), Ja'Cia Cunningham (Chicago State), and Krystal Haddock (Tennessee State).

Freshmen Aretha Linger, Yolanda Floyd, Allie Sykes, Samantha Mullock, and Amani Williams also join the Blue Hose. This is the most freshmen the Blue Hose have had on the roster since the 2022-23 season (also five).

 
The Blue Hose also return four from last year's roster. Seniors Shelby Fiddler and Aminata Tal lead the returners for PC. Sophomores Morgan Boyd and Daniella Velez also are back for the Blue Hose this season.
