LAST TIME OUT –  Presbyterian lost to Radford, 80-61, on the road this past Wednesday evening. Junior guard Carl Parrish led the Blue Hose with 19 points. Redshirt senior forward Jonah Pierce recorded his fourth straight double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
 
OPENING TIP
INSIDE THE STAT SHEET – Pierce leads the Blue Hose in scoring at 15.5 points per game. Pierce leads the Big South and ranks 31st in the nation in rebounding at 9.2 boards per game. Pierce is 11th in the nation with a Big South leading eight double-doubles. Parrish is second on the team in scoring at 13.2 points per game while connecting on a team-high 40 three-point field goals this season. Ten PC players have knocked down at least one three-point field goal this season. Redshirt junior forward Jaylen Peterson is second on the team in rebounding at 7.5 rebounds per contest. Sophomore guard Triston Wilson ranks amongst the Big South leaders, averaging a team-leading 3.6 assists per game. Wilson has dished out at least five assists in six games this season. Pierce, Peterson, and redshirt freshman forward Chidi Chiakwelu average around a blocked shot per game. Pierce ranks third in the Big South at 1.4 blocked shots per game. Chiakwelu is fifth in the Big South at 1.3 blocked shots per game. As a team, Presbyterian is shooting 45.7 percent from the field while averaging 69.8 points per game.
 
OPENING TIP
BIG SOUTH OPENER – After last Saturday's 86-77 Big South opening win over USC Upstate, the Blue Hose have won their league opener in four straight seasons.
 
NCAA RANKINGS - Presbyterian ranks second in the Big South in scoring defense after limiting its opponents to 69.6 points per game. The Blue Hose are second in the Big South and 61st in the nation in rebounding margin, averaging 6.1 rebounds per game more than its opponents. 
 
BLOCKED SHOTS - Chiakwelu recorded six blocked shots against Wofford (December 3), which is tied for the highest single-game total in Presbyterian's DI era. Peterson has also posted six blocked shots in a game in his career. Peterson accomplished that feat at Winthrop last season (January 29, 2025). 
 
DOUBLE DIGIT BOARDS – Jonah Pierce has grabbed double-figure rebounds nine times this season. He corralled 13 rebounds against Navy (November 3) and ETSU (November 8). He recorded 14 rebounds at Sacramento State (November 16) and at Wofford (December 3).  In Presbyterian's win over Morehead State (December 6), he tallied 16 rebounds. At Manhattan (December 21), he grabbed 11 boards. In Presbyterian's last game in the win over Truett McConnell (December 28), he grabbed 11 rebounds. In the win over USC Upstate (January 3), he collected 12 rebounds. At Radford (January 7), Pierce recorded 11 rebounds.
 
PROGRAM RECORD FREE THROWS MADE AND ATTEMPTED - In Presbyterian's 86-77 win over USC Upstate (January 3), the Blue Hose set the program's DI era record with 31 made free throws and 43 free throw attempts. Triston Wilson made a school DI era record 17 free throws in the game.
 
PC COACH QUINTON FERRELL - Quinton Ferrell is in his seventh season as the head coach of his alma mater, Presbyterian College. Ferrell, a former Blue Hose team captain and a 2007 PC graduate, is one of 51 coaches in the NCAA Division I ranks who are coaching their alma mater.
 
PRESBYTERIAN-LONGWOOD SERIES – Saturday's game will be the 25th meeting between Presbyterian and Longwood, with the Blue Hose holding a 14-9 series advantage. The Blue Hose have won the last two meetings, including a 77-68 road win at Longwood, February 15, 2025. Quadir Pettaway led the Blue Hose with 18 points. Kobe Stewart scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. Parrish scored 11 points while connecting on three three-point field goals.

LONGWOOD – The Lancers have won three of their last five games with wins over North Carolina Central, Averett,  and Winthrop during that stretch. Longwood has lost its last two games at High Point and at UNC Asheville. Junior guard Jacoi Hutchinson leads four Longwood players averaging double-figure points at 12.3 per game.
