- The Zips responded in the next half inning, getting two runs after logging three hits, Akron kept the momentum going in the fifth, scoring three runs to take the lead from PC. After five innings, the Blue trailed 5-3.

- The Zips' offense continued to give the Blue Hose problems in the top of the seventh, scoring three more runs to extend their lead to 8-3 going into the final half inning.

- The Blue Hose loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, still trailing by five. Mikah Conner stepped up to the plate and kept PC in the game, crushing a grand slam to pull Presbyterian within just one run. However, Akron closed out the game and ended the PC rally with a strikeout in PC's next at-bat.

Game Two
- Neither team scored in the first two innings of game two, but things changed in the top half of the third. The floodgates opened for Akron, scoring eight runs on seven hits and two errors to grab a commanding 8-0 lead over the Blue Hose.

- The Blue Hose got on the board for the first time in game two in the bottom half of the inning, scoring on a sacrifice fly from Bo Moody.

- The Zips added to their lead in the top of the fifth, growing the lead to eight up 9-1.

- The pitchers controlled the game the following innings, limiting the offense. In the bottom of the eighth, PC tacked on one more run from a Jonathan Williams single to center field.
