ELON, N.C. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (2-3) rallied from a five-run deficit down the stretch on Tuesday evening but ultimately came up short, falling to Elon 6-4 at Latham Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amman Dewberry got the Blue Hose offense started right away, hitting his second home run of the season to right field to put Presbyterian up 1-0 in the top of the first inning.
- Following the Dewberry home run, neither team was able to get any offense going. Sammy Vander Hill shut down the Phoenix in the first four innings, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings and only giving up two hits. Robbie Boykin came in relief in the fourth inning with the bases loaded but was able to escape the jam.
- The Phoenix broke the game open the next inning, plating four to go up 4-1. Elon tacked on two more runs in the sixth, taking a 6-1 lead.
- In the seventh, the Blue Hose crawled back into the game, scoring three runs to close the deficit to two. PC scored on a passed ball before Holden Baker doubled home Emory Guilford and Matthew Rollison.
- Presbyterian had one more chance in the eighth inning with two runners on base but was unable to capitalize. Elon closed out the game, earning a 6-4 win.

NOTABLESÂ
- Amman Dewberry hit his second home run in three games. He finished 2-for-3 at the plate against the Phoenix. He is now 9-for-20 this season.
- Jonathan Williams, Caden Mason, Mkah Conner, and Holden Baker each recorded a hit for PC.
- Sammy Vander Hill started on the mound, throwing 3.2 scoreless innings. He gave up just two hits and logged a strikeout.
- Jeremiah Hampton threw a scoreless frame for the Blue Hose out of the bullpen. Braiden Eagen came into the game in the eighth inning, getting two outs.
