PC Set to Host Charleston and North Florida This Week

CLINTON, S.C. – The Presbyterian College women's tennis team (4-2) will play its fifth and sixth straight matches at home this week, taking on Charleston on Wednesday (Feb. 18) at 2:00 p.m. before facing North Florida on Thursday (Feb. 19) at 1:00 p.m. on the Templeton Center Tennis Courts.

 


MATCH NOTES
- Thursday's match is Pink Out for fans.

- Live scoring will be available for both matches.

 

 

BLUE HOSE NOTES
- The Blue Hose continued to roll last weekend, picking up two wins at home on Saturday against Queens and Western Carolina. PC defeated Queens 4-1 in the morning before finishing the day with a 6-1 victory over the Catamounts.

- Grace Katzman won all four of her matches last weekend for PC in singles and doubles. She is 4-2 overall in 2026 in singles while boasting a perfect 4-0 mark in doubles with partner Mary Ellen Longmire.

- Ladina Bruhin continues to lead Presbyterian playing on the top court, entering this week with a 4-1 singles record. She also has gotten off to a hot start in doubles with partner Roxy Valdes, as the two hold a 2-1 record playing together on the top court.

- Luciana Parrilli and Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo are undefeated as a doubles team this year, winning both of their matches as a team. Three Blue Hose doubles teams have at least two victories this season.

 


A CLOSER LOOK AT THE BLUE HOSE
The Blue Hose return four from last season to this year's squad. McKenzie Davis, Mary Ellen Longmire, Sofia Rodrigo Hidalgo, and Elle Sceney are all back for Presbyterian. Five newcomers join PC this season as well. Katherine Bauer, Ladina Bruhin, Luciana Parrilli, and Roxy Valdes highlight the Blue Hose freshmen class. Finally, sophomore transfer Grace Katzman comes to the Blue Hose from North Greenville University.

 


FALL BIG SOUTH DOUBLES CHAMPIONS
McKenzie Davis and Ladina Bruhin won the second-ever edition of the Big South Fall Doubles Championship as the No. 3 seed in October. The pair picked up three wins in the tournament to claim the title, clinching the championship with an 8-4 win in the final over the No. 5 seed Marina Skegro and Carlota Farres of Charleston Southern. The duo earned automatic entry into the ITA Conference Masters Championships in San Diego by way of their victory, where they reached the round of 16.

 


SPRING SCHEDULE
Head coach Joel Roberts enters his seventh season at the helm of the Blue Hose women's tennis program. PC will play in 22 dual matches this spring, hosting 13 matches in Clinton at the Templeton Center Tennis Courts. In the Big South, the Blue Hose will host Longwood on March 8, Gardner-Webb on March 19, and Charleston Southern on March 25.

 


SCOUTING THE COUGARS
- Charleston has won all six previous meetings with the Blue Hose. The two teams have played each other each of the last two seasons.

- The Cougars are 0-3 to start their season. Charleston faced No. 21 Clemson on Saturday, falling 7-0.

- Head coach Angelo Anastopoulo is in his 36th season at helm for the Cougars.

 


SCOUTING THE OSPREYS
- North Florida is 3-0 all-time against Presbyterian. The Ospreys defeated PC 5-2 last season in Florida.

- North Florida is a perfect 7-0 to open its season. The Ospreys most recently had their way with Georgia State, sweeping the Panthers 7-0.

- The Ospreys finished last season with a 12-8 record and a 7-2 mark in the Atlantic Sun. Catherine Dunagan is the head coach of the Ospreys.

Presbyterian will play three matches on the road next week, starting with Davidson next Wednesday (Feb. 25) at 1:00 p.m.
