Blue Hose Fall to North Florida on Friday Night

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (2-8) dropped the first game of its three-game series at North Florida, falling to the Ospreys 15-6 on Friday night (Feb. 27) at Harmon Stadium.

 

The Blue Hose scored four runs in the first two innings to jump out to a lead, but North Florida responded to score nine unanswered runs to grab control of the game. Presbyterian finished the night with 10 hits as a team. Three Blue Hose players recorded multiple hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Amman Dewberry got the Blue Hose offense going right away, singling home James Green in the top of the first to put PC up 1-0.

- Presbyterian carried the momentum into the second inning as well, scoring three more runs to grab a 4-0 lead. RBI singles from Brody Linker, Green, and Jonathan Williams helped the Blue Hose add to the lead.

- North Florida cut into the PC lead in the bottom of the second, hitting a home run to get on the board. The Ospreys tacked on another run in the bottom of the third to inch closer.

- The game flipped in the bottom of the fourth. A grand slam by North Florida gave the Ospreys their first lead of the game up 6-4. North Florida continued to pour it on in the fifth, adding two more runs.

- The Ospreys scored again in the seventh before the run finally ended in the eighth. RBIs from Williams and Dewberry got PC back within three, but North Florida finished strong. The Ospreys scored six in the ninth to secure a 15-6 win.

 

 

NOTABLES 
- James Green, Amman Dewberry, and Caden Mason each went 2-for-4 at the plate.

- This is the first career multi-hit game for Green at PC. Mason has now had three multi-hit games this season. 

- Dewberry has had at least two hits in six games to open 2026.

- Bauer Burkart made his first career collegiate start on the mound for the Blue Hose.

- Jeremiah Hampton pitched 2.1 innings, now allowing a hit.

- Jonathan Williams recorded his first career game with at least two RBIs.

- The Blue Hose posted a season-high four stolen bases.
