CLINTON, S.C. – On the first day of March, the Presbyterian College lacrosse team will finish a prolonged three-match homestand as first-year Division I program New Haven will visit Bailey Memorial Stadium. Opening draw on Sunday is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
PC is in pursuit of their first 2026 win after a couple close calls with Le Moyne and Austin Peay at home, welcoming a school from Connecticut that won their inaugural D-I contest versus Sacred Heart.
Head coach
Eric Clakeley's group has combatted a downpour in the Le Moyne game and heavy gusts of wind in their most recent appearance with APSU. This weekend marks the third of five non-conference home matches on Presby's plate.

SCOUTING THE CHARGERS
- New Haven has started two new eras simultaneously, beginning their D-I history while also hiring a new head coach in September.
- Kathelene Kim Green was tasked to lead the Chargers into the new division, having spent the previous six years as the head coach at D-II Quincy University in Illinois.
- Like Austin Peay (who won their first game over Gardner-Webb before coming to South Carolina), New Haven earned a victory in their opening contest as they outgunned Sacred Heart 10-7. They did not allow any goals in the 2
nd or 3
rd periods, beating the Pioneers with a mid-match 6-0 run.
- The Chargers visited Wofford on Friday afternoon before turning their attention to PC. In the Sacred Heart triumph, Sophia Minnion and Summer Castiglione added up for six goals.
LAST TIME OUT
- What turned out to be the highest-scoring non-conference game for the Blue Hose since a 20-19 marathon against Mercyhurst 12 months back, Austin Peay edged out the Scotsmen thanks to a 7-1 differential in the 3
rd.
- A 19-14 final margin, the Blue Hose were led by senior
Alyssa Perez' four goals along with three others by
Emily Currie and
Sydney Howard.
- Trailing by as many as seven points, PC never waivered and got as close as four in the last quarter. Coach Clakeley's club won 17 draw controls on that day, including seven by Howard and a career-high eight from sophomore
Kate Dominick.
- Eight different players on PC's roster have scored at least once this year, with Dominick's 13 points leading the way (seven assists, six goals).
- After sitting out the first two meetings,
Morgan Thompson played all 60 minutes at the keeper position against the Governors and landed 10 saves.
