Blue Hose Drop Tuesday Night Matchup at FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Presbyterian College baseball team (2-15) fell to Florida Atlantic 12-2 on Tuesday evening (March 10) at FAU Baseball Stadium.

 

The Owls took control of the game in the first two innings, building a 5-0 lead. The Blue Hose got two back in the third, but five runs in the eighth inning powered Florida Atlantic to a Tuesday night victory over PC.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Owls' offense got off to a hot start in the first inning, striking first with two runs. Florida Atlantic kept the momentum in the second inning, adding three more runs on three hits to jump out to a 5-0 lead over PC.

- Presbyterian battled in the third inning to respond, getting on the board with two runs. Jonathan Williams singled home James Green with two outs to score PC's first run of the game. The next batter, Emory Guilford doubled to score Amman Dewberry, closing the gap to just three.

- However, Florida Atlantic got the momentum right back in the fourth, adding a run on a sacrifice fly. The Owls scored again in the sixth on a fielder's choice to grab a 7-2 advantage over the Blue Hose.

- The Owls finished off the game in the eighth inning, recording four hits to bring in five runs to close game one in Boca Raton with a 12-2 win.

 

 

NOTABLES 
- James Green and Holden Baker each logged multi-hit days for the Blue Hose. 

- Baker reached base three times, going 2-for-3 with a walk. This is the second multi-hit game of his career and the first since March 22, 2024 at Longwood.

- Green recorded his second mutli-hit game of the year, going 2-for-4. He has posted a hit in eight of PC's last 10 games.

- Jonathan Williams and Emory Guilford had the RBIs for Presbyterian. Guilford now has 13 RBIs this season.

- Bauer Burkart started on the mound. Nine pitchers appeared on the night for the Blue Hose. Landon Nichols made his collegiate debut for the Blue Hose in the eighth inning.
